THOR: RAGNAROK's Tessa Thompson Reveals Exactly Who Joined Her In Pitching That All-Female Team-Up Movie

When Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson and some of her fellow MCU stars approached Kevin Feige about a possible spin-off featuring the established female heroes of the franchise, the Marvel boss seemed very receptive to the idea.

At the time, we didn't know who exactly joined Thompson in pitching the idea, but the Valkyrie actress has now named names:

"I think in that group was Brie Larson, myself, Zoe Saldana, although she ran off to the bathroom, I think, so she came midway through the pitch but she had been in the rev-up to it. Scarlett Johansson. Pom [Klementieff] and Karen [Gillan], who are both in the Guardians movies. Yeah, I think it was that group.

We were just sort of all in a semicircle talking, and it just came up, because none of us really worked together – well, I suppose Zoe, and Karen, and Pom – and wouldn’t it be nice if we could all work together?"

So, if something like this was ever to get off the ground, there's a decent chance the team would consist of Captain Marvel, Gamora, Black Widow, Mantis, and Nebula... for starters. A big-screen take on The Lady Liberators, perhaps?

Obviously this is all hypothetical for now, but do you guys think it could actually become a reality? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

Those in acting have no control over what movies the movie studio decides to do in regards to which movies it makes. They are hired to act and that is it.

Studios will evaluate based on potential profit and there is no profit to be made in making movies based on minor characters or side characters who the audience do not care much about - hence why we don't have a Black Widow movie.

Let's look at the line-up currently;
Captain Marvel, Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, Black Widow

A female team-up movie being made right now wouldn't be as profitable as a female team-up movie being made in five years when we've had Wasp as a main character in Ant-Man and the Wasp, two Captain Marvel films, introduction of Clea in Doctor Strange and a potential larger focus for Nebula/Gamora in Infinity War/Avengers4/GOTG3, etc...

As such, I don't think we'll see it happen because they don't have enough main female characters to ensure the movie gets the audience - especially when many view Infinity War/Avengers 4 as a stepping off point.
