In Thor: Love and Thunder's mid-credits scene, Hercules made his long-awaited MCU debut when Zeus sent his son to take revenge on the God of Thunder for attacking him earlier in the movie. Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein is playing the Olympian, and there's a lot of intrigue surrounding Marvel Studios' plans for him moving forward.

Talking to Variety, the actor finally commented on the role and revealed that he insisted his parents should go and watch the Thor: Ragnarok sequel...without telling them he was in the movie.

"I didn’t tell anyone because Marvel put a chip in my neck that said 'If you talk about this you’re dead,'" he joked. "My mom and dad, I sent them a text and said 'I’ve just seen Thor.' I knew it’s not the kind of film they’d see. I said, 'You should go see it. It’s funny.'"

"My mom is texting me all the way through the film giving me a running commentary. I’m like, #Just watch the film!'" Goldstein continued. "It gets to the end bit, where it shows Russell Crowe...my mom texts me 'Russell Crowe’s in it again, he’s very funny.' I go, 'F*cking look up at the screen!'"

As for what the future could hold in store, the actor may have finally broken his silence on his MCU debut, but he's giving nothing away. "I truly, honestly - this isn’t me lying or being coy - I know nothing," he claims. "All I know is what I did that day and that’s it. That could be it. It was a fun three seconds."

The response to Thor: Love and Thunder has been a little lukewarm, but with over $500 million at the worldwide box office and counting, we're sure the title hero's story is far from over. As for Hercules, while he may fancy taking aim at Thor, the character is one with an extensive history in the Marvel Universe, including a lengthy stint with The Avengers.

He also ends up being one of Thor's fiercest allies in the comic books, so we can't wait to see how this bromance develops.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now playing in theaters.
