Tickets for Thor: Love and Thunder are now on sale, and while we didn't get that new trailer/TV spot we were hoping for, Fandango has released an extensive 30-minute interview with director Taika Waititi and stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie).
Over the course of the in-depth chat, various aspects of the latest Marvel Studios adventure are discussed, including Natalie Portman's return as Jane Foster and transformation into The Mighty Thor, Christian Bale's debut as "sympathetic" villain Gorr the God Butcher, and much more.
Plus, Waititi suggests that Love and Thunder may be the middle instalment in a trilogy, which would seem to imply that the filmmaker intends to return for at least one more movie.
You'll find a teaser clip along with the full interview below.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
