Tom Hiddleston On THOR: THE DARK WORLD Director Alan Taylor & THE AVENGERS Success

Commenting on whether we'll see a third solo Thor movie, English actor Tom Hiddleston has also praised The Dark World director Alan Taylor, and his relationship with Kenneth Branagh. Check it out!

When asked about Marvel's The Avengers box office success, Loki actor Tom Hiddleston recently told the Huffington Post, “You never count your chickens. When you're inside it, you're just thinking, 'I hope I haven't screwed this up.' You don't want to be the weakest link in the chain.”

On his third forthcoming outing as the God of Mischief in Thor: The Dark World, Hiddleston dotted on what director Alan Taylor brings to the table following the original flick's helmer Kenneth Branagh. “Ken established the tone, so we’ve taken the baton and kept running. Alan Taylor is fantastic, one of the men responsible for 'Game of Thrones' which is so of that world, a very grounded, gritty, earthy world where warriors and swords and monsters and magic all meet, so his experience of that has given him a fantastic take on the whole world of Thor.” He continued, “I went to a summer screening of a Marvel short film. Ken came and so did Alan, it was very clear how much mutual respect between them and I thought, ‘ok, it’s going to be fine.’”

Although we likely won't see a third Thor movie, at least until 2016, that didn't stop the Huffington Post from asking Hiddleston about the possibility, to which he replied, “These kind of films, not to get too heavy about it, all depend on the financial success of the one before, so we'll have to see.”

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

I'm looking forward to Thor TDW, but I'm not going to start getting really excited until we get a trailer and it starts getting closer to its release date because its still got just under a year till its released. As of right now I'm looking forward to iron man 3 and man of steel more.

I doubt we'll get any footage until we're closer to Iron Man 3's release. Then, we should get a full trailer. I can't wait for this film.

I'm really glad that they're releasing Thor TDW later in the year, that keeps Ironman 3 from overshadowing it's marketing.

@ Marvel72
Ive been saying the same thing for months now...T:TDW looks to be the best CBM of next year. IM3 will be epic and better than the second and I still need more info on S:MOS before I can move it up at all.
T:TDW> IM3> S:MOS

I'm liking this. Thor had a more fantastical setting but it seems that The Dark World is going to have a more grounded Viking-like interpretation.
