While attending a party for Sony PlayStation's new PS Vita portable entertainment system actor Josh Duhamel was asked by E! about Michael Bay continuing on with the Transformers franchise. More specifically he was asked if he was reprising his role in the next film as Lt. Colonel William Lennox, "I don't think anybody's doing it," said Duhamel. "I know Shia [LaBoeuf]'s not doing it. I don't think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it." He also went on to say that he is not surprised that Paramount is moving forward with more Transformers films since the last on grossed over 1 billion dollars at the box office last summer. "Whenever these movies make that much money they're going to make as many as they can, but I haven't heard anything about it. They haven't called me."

It was earlier reported that the fourth film is going to be a hybrid using some of the continuity of the first films while establishing some on its own. Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura didn't rule out any of the old cast returning, but said it will most likely consist of new cast.
