I really wonder what the reception is going to be for this movie. Really hope it ends up being good, don't want to waste my time downloading this off the net.

Don't get me wrong, I somewhat like the 1st and 3rd movies, but "an ancient, new threat" sounds pretty lame. Give us Unicron and then give it up, please Mr. Bay.

God its hardly rocket science..

"Ancient" because the threat is from a age beyond their charted or known history.

"New" as in never been confronted before, a new adversary so to speak.

Unicron has no place in these movies unless they change the entire concept from what he was in the animated film. You can get away with just making up a whole new bunch of robot planets for a flick and having a Galactus like entity suddenly come and threaten them. Young kids at that time ddin't ask questions about how the hell these new robot planets all came about within a short ride from Earth.

But these are live action movies, the have way more expense than an animated film and marketed to a bigger audience than just a bunch of pre-pubescent boys as they did in the 80's. Like it or not, the human element is what keeps the adult interest in these movies from turning into a total fanfilm with quadruple the expense and less than half the box office potential. If they did Unicorn he'd have to be a threat to Earth, not Cybertron and being a planet sized robot would be too visually cheesy on screen to pose a viable treat to teeny weeny robots to overcome.

These movies have to ignore their fun but corny animated and comic book past and deliver their own interpretations of Hasbro's toys in their own presentation for the audiences today.

The last Transformers movie was not only terrific, but is still the standard in 3D films. Of course, the fanboys trashed it because they are idiot cry babies. They're already trashing this one, sight unseen. How can we eliminate those trolls from the internet so the rest of us can have some fun? It's not Citizen Kane, guys, and it's not supposed to be, you know?

@jp688 - So, according to you the next step on after the transformers movies is Citizen Kane? The Transformers need to be good like Pacific Rim or Avatar or The Avengers. The "trolls" you talking about have taste. Interesting how having taste is trolling. People who don't use their brains at all like Transformers

^^^Lol, I was gonna say something similar to what he just said.

Nobody wants a Citizen Kane, we want a blockbuster in the enjoyment of Avengers or even a Jurassic Park. Is that so much to ask for?

I don't have attachment to Transformers, but give me a good summer fun movie at least.

Lockdown sounds almost exactly like Jetfire from the second film. Same voice actor I know. They should have added the robotic effects they used in the first film.
