Three years ago, Hasbro contacted Hoi Mun of Xylac Industries, asking him if he would explore some different designs for a pitch to Paramount regarding Michael Bay's Transformers franchise. He was only given two weeks to work on the assignment, and only focused on the Dinobots (Grimlock, Slag, Sludge, Snarl and Swoop) - keeping some of the G1 elements.

"The goal was to explore new aesthetic vision for the TF film universe such as layering to see the inner mechanic structure under a transparent layer, organic shape to the Mechanic - Musculature, new silhouette, new panel segmentation styles, Organic forms and Muscle system. So with these goals in mind there was a list of Transformers I could choose from to redesign and the Dinobots was in the list. So Dinobots it is and here are my takes on them." - Hoi Mun

TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION - The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

TRANSFORMERS 4 will be directed by Michael Bay, from a script written by Ehren Kruger. The cast includes: Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammar, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Jack Reynor.

Man this movie sucked.
Damn shame what they've done to my beloved Transformers.

When I see Bayformers & Foxmen, I think God has a serious beef with my childhood faves. Why Lord? Why?

I think TAMS2 and Transformers had a "who can use the part of the movie in our ad campaign that will be cool but barely used in our movie" competition.

@slickcikdesign meanwhile both getting sequels and most likely returning and dinobots were in for 20 minutes I can say that's more than the villain in guardians of the galaxy. Also don't forget captain america 2 seeing its called the winter soldier and we don't see him for a while.

You might want to time that Dino bots sighting again. Also sounds like your totally sure TASM is getting a sequel and not a reboot. No one knows what Sony is doing, not even Sony. Transformers needs a new director.. Bay doesn't get how to make a transformers movie. All of them progressively get worse when it comes to story and acting. I thought Marky Marc would be better than Lebouf but I didn't like Marcs role in the movie. He is not believable as an "Inventor"… I can believe if he was the inventor of the beer bong, but thats about it.

the difference is GOTG was a good movie, as well as Winter Soldier…
Both TASM and Transformers were pretty schitty… I couldn't even watch the end of transformers because it dragged out too long.

I liked MWTIF better than all of the transformers movies and that was mediocre at best…

The transformers series just got increasingly awful with each movie.

Can anyone even make out that Grimlock is supposed to be a T-Rex? Just to get in on this conversation too, Mirage19, I'm not sure how any Transformer fan can tolerate this garbage. I'd like to make out what I'm watching once in a while. It's gotten to the point that what it looks like is a couple of junk yards fighting when you actually do get to see the Transformers.

@RodimusPryme

The look of the bots really annoy me.
Sometimes less is more. Something Bay will never understand.

What would these movies gross if they were actually quality films?
If they had 3 dimensional characters? Hell if they had 2 dimensional characters!
As much as these movies make I honestly believe they're leaving money on the table. Smh.

@RodimusPryme I have grown up on transformers my entire life and if you can't see the fights that's your own personal problem don't bring that into the actual film.I will have number 2 is the worst one of them all personally I think the fourth one is the best.

John Goodman killed it as Hound and it was awesome seeing the Dinobots , even if it was only a short cameo type, and they didn't talk, which I wanted to see. Also, Lockdown was a fantastic villian! His ship was awesome! The movie had alot of good stuff in it , even if it wasen't a perfect film by any stretch. I've always found stuff that interested me in every Transformers movie. Something is almost always done right. At least Bay and them try and give us the popular characters from the show..

I think people hate on these films to much. We've had how many Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies and still haven't seen Beebop , Rocksteady, or Krang!!! Have they ever even mentioned Dimension X? I mean, come on.. THose are real complaints.
