ILM's VFX Breakdown For Michael Bay's TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION
Highly-acclaimed visual effects company, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), has released a new video detailing the visual effects that their team of artists created for Michael Bay's billion dollar film Transformers: Age of Extinction. Check it out.
Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction grossed over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office this year. Its closest competitior, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, trails the current champ by as much as $300 million. Bay has received a lot of credit for the film's box office success, but I would argue that the 400 artists at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) did most of the heavy lifting. Below, is a newly released visual effects breakdown showcasing their efforts. Enjoy!
TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION - The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.
TRANSFORMERS 4 will be directed by Michael Bay, from a script written by Ehren Kruger. The cast includes: Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammar, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Jack Reynor.
