EXCLUSIVE: CBM Chats With Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen)

EXCLUSIVE: CBM Chats With Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen)

I had the opportunity this weekend to chat with Optimus Prime himself, the legend Peter Cullen. We discuss Transformer G1 fans, the live action films, heroes, villains and more. Check it out!

I recently had the opportunity to speak with the man behind many of the voices I grew up listening to in the mornings, after school and even on the weekends.  Peter Cullen is known throughout the world not only as the voice of the wise and heroic leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, in the 1980s The Transformers cartoon series, but he was also the voice of various other robots including Ironhide, Slugslinger, Streetwise, Wingspan and Nightstick. He reprised the voices of Optimus and Ironhide in the 1986 ?The Transformers: The Movie? film. In 2007 Cullen returned as Optimus Prime in Michael Bay's live-action Transformers film and it's subsequent sequels.

Cullen has also lent his talents to the somber voice of Eeyore in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. He has lent his voice to Knight Rider (K.A.R.R.), The Pirates of Dark Water (Mantus), Dungeons and Dragons (Venger), Voltron, Johnny Quest, Spider-Man (Red Skull), G.I. Joe and more.

His film credits include the voice of the giant ape in King Kong and the Predator. His voice can also be heard in Gremlins.

Transformers: Age of Extinction makes its way to Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD and VOD on September 30, 2014. The film is now  available on Digital HD.

The Transformers: Age of Extinction four-disc Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack and three-disc Blu-ray Combo Pack feature more than three hours of illuminating bonus content.  From selecting fierce new cars and designing new TRANSFORMERS characters to constructing elaborately detailed sets, this comprehensive footage truly takes viewers inside the fun, hard work and excitement of making an electrifying global blockbuster film.

@blackandyellow - What can I say? I'm not a very fancy guy... Hey, it's an "Ironman" watch! ;o)

Peter was great. I had an extra minute or two during set-up and post-interview. LOVE this guy! I didn't realize just how much time I spent listening to him growing up until I was prepping for the interview.

this is what this site needs more off, one on one video interviews, they are much more interesting than reading all the time like a robot
