Prime Video has released the first teaser trailer and a series of promo stills for Criminal, the streamer's 8-part adaptation of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips' best-selling Image graphic novel series starring Charlie Hunnam, Adria Arjona, and Emilia Clarke.

According to the show's synopsis, Criminal follows friends Leo Patterson (Hunnam) and Ricky Lawless (Gus Halper), “one trying to fight his way out of the world of crime they were raised in, the other desperate to follow in the footsteps of his father, a legendary outlaw. And when Ricky’s older brother Tracy (Luke Evans) returns home from the Army, their tragic family history comes home with him.”

“Drawn into their orbit are Greta (Arjona), a sharp-tongued car thief from Leo’s past, and Mallory (Clarke), Ricky’s girlfriend, who fears what he’ll do to get by. Gunfights, heists, and tragic romance are the order of the day, but will anyone make it out alive?”

All four episodes of Criminal Part One, “Coward,” will debut on January 13, 2027, followed by all four episodes of Criminal Part Two, “Lawless,” on January 27, 2027.

The cast of the show, which was developed as an "interlocking universe of crime stories,” also includes Richard Jenkins, John Hawkes, Logan Browning, Kadeem Hardison, Pat Healy, Taylor Sele, Aliyah Camacho, Michael Mando, Marvin Jones III, Michael Xavier and Dominic Burgess.

Brubaker serves as co-showrunner and executive producer of Criminal along with Jordan Harper. Phillips also executive produces, as do Sarah Carbiener, and Phillip Barnett. Captain Marvel directors Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden helmed the first four episodes.

"Criminal is a beloved graphic novel created by the most iconic team in the history of comics. I know our global Prime Video customers will immediately embrace this story, and I look forward to working with Ed, Jordan, and the team to bring it to the screen," said Nick Pepper, head Amazon MGM Studios, when the show was first announced.

Brubaker added, "Sean and I have been building this world in our books for over a decade, and now to be able to bring it to life for Amazon is just incredible. And to have Amazon support the project the way they have, and show so much faith in my and Jordan’s vision for the show is even more incredible."

Anyone that sees this woman as Wonder Woman just think she's attractive. That's it. There's nothing of her resembling Wonder Woman.

Brubaker has long been one of my favorites comic writers. Adaptations are always bitter sweet; but I’ll give it a gander of course.

Looks good imo and certainly has a hell of a cast…

I like that it’s divided up into volumes like a graphic novel though I’m sure some won’t.

Anyway , looking forward to checking out the show when it releases!!.
