GEN V: New Poster For THE BOYS Spin-Off Spotlights Patrick Schwarzenegger As Golden Boy

Before we catch up with Billy Butcher and his crew's continuing efforts to take out The Seven in the fourth season of The Boys, we'll be introduced to an all-new group of characters in Prime Video's spin-off show, Gen V.

Following the first teaser trailer (see below), the streamer has released a new poster spotlighting Patrick Schwarzenegger as Godolkin University's golden boy... Golden Boy!

We don't know much about this guy (or any of the characters, for that matter), but he is expected to be one of the more powerful Supes attending the university.

"Set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s top ranking."

Gen V is expected to premiere on Prime Video this fall. The show also stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert, and Jason Ritter.

I think the Boys is great.

I don't like this. It's making money, so I guess it was inevitable they would whore it out, but I still kind of hate this idea.

@GhostDog - You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. They should have ended the show by now.

@Shivermetimbers - the finale last season felt like it could’ve been the end in some ways. They say 5 seasons but it feels like it should’ve been 3-4 given the way last season played out.

@GhostDog - I’ve always felt like the show was being promoted that way. It made fun of the super hero genre but also had to capitalize on the popularity of the genre to generate interest in the show. It’s like it tried to have its cake and eat it too. To me it’s lame to base a whole show off of satirizing a genre that you desperately want to be a part of.

@HAILHYDRA - I enjoy the boys but I agree with you. They’re getting hypocritical

@GhostDog - That season finale was HORRENDOUS, but you're right. It basically summed up how this show talks a big game but plays with no stakes.

I enjoy The Boys and have zero interest in this show. It’s ironic that the property mocks the franchising in the super hero genre and now looks to be turning into what it mocks.

I'm quite looking forward to it, but yeah, don't wring it's neck out so much we all end up hating it, à la Walking Dead.

I like how the first had Dennis Quaids son as a star, now we have Arnies son as a star of this.

I like Patrick Schwarzenegger pretty all right. They probably saw Daniel Isn’t Real and figured hey, this guy can play off kilter really well. And I don’t Blamed them. Already better actor than his pops.

Trying to make a "shared universe" with The Boys reminds me of that gag with Alan Moore in The Simpsons.

I might be the minority, but I don't really see a problem with Gen V. Comic book wise, "The Boys" had quite a bit of material that was not covered by the show. Their take on Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters was definitely an arch that I'd like to see explored. So hopefully it turns out better than expected.
