Rick Comes Face-To-Face With Ezekiel In This New Promo For The Midseason Premiere Of THE WALKING DEAD

Following a batch of promo stills and the official synopsis for the upcoming midseason premiere of The Walking Dead, AMC has released a new teaser for "Rock in the Road".

In it, we see the Alexandrians meet up with the denizens of the Kingdom, as Rick attempts to convince Ezekiel to join them in their fight against Negan and the Saviours. The King seems a little hesitant here, but something tells me he'll be on board by the end of the episode.

The highly anticipated mid-season seven premiere of the #1 show in all of television among adults 18-49, AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” launches Sunday, February 12th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. On the debut episode, “Rock in the Road,” Rick and the group are led to a new community where they are introduced to its inhabitants and ruler. A familiar face resurfaces.

Rick went from being willing to chop off his own sons arm to save "his people" to Billy Bad A$$ despite what might happen to Eugene if they attack the Saviors. Of course we know what the outcome is gonna be, but I was hoping that the show coulda went in a different direction so that the character motivations made sense. I could see comic book Rick being psychologically damaged and more willing to obey the saviors because he had lost his hand well before coming to Alexandria. But now... IDK.

@BlackHulk - Unfortunately the series is no longer adapting the comic book stories and making sensible changes to the flawed writing of Kirkman. Now Kirkman has weaseled his way into being involved in writing a TV series and Gimple is such a hack he thinks doing the comic story near verbatim is the road to success.

Writing TV is a different beast than writing a [frick]ing comic book. The writer needs to have a feel for what works in live action and an ability to keep the show interesting in each act. If they don't, you get what Walking Dead has been since season 5, an unbalanced snoozer of a series with episodes that plod along too slow and then try to cram something eventful into the last 5 minutes. And you get episodes that are so poorly written they have to run over to get everything in.

The season 6 midseason finale for example was an utter mess. It went over and AMC still could not fit it all in so the scene where Jessie is killed and Carl is shot went from the final shot to being moved to the next episode.

Gimple and Kirkman are so terrible and unfit to write TV that they create a big mess of boring crap scenes that is impossible to edit into well structured episodes.

And again, I don't see any photos of Negan for the mid-season premiere. They wasted him in the first half of the season, I bet they will waste him in the second one as well.

Literally my most favorite thing about the show at the moment and he is getting the short end of the stick.
