Disney+ has announced that all 10 seasons of The Walking Dead will be made available on the "Star" section of the streaming service starting Friday, July 2.
With the FOX network in the UK set to be shuttered on Sky, it's no great surprise that this is happening. It also marks another major addition to the UK version of Disney+ from the many properties Disney acquired during its merger with Fox.
All 153 episodes will be available to stream, while season 11 will premiere starting Monday, August 23. That's been confirmed as the show's final season before the planned Rick Grimes movie heads to theaters (unfortunately, it's been a while since an update has been shared on that project).
The Walking Dead is an action-packed drama, based on the comic books written by Robert Kirkman. It follows a group of survivors, led by former police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), struggling to survive after a zombie apocalypse. As the world overrun by the dead takes its toll, their interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their survival than the walkers that roam the country. This global smash-hit has built up a legion of fans across the world.
War of the Worlds will also hit Disney+ in the UK on May 28, and these shows join the likes of Atlanta, Bones, American Dad!, and Family Guy. The Orville will also hit the streamer in September.
Star is the new general entertainment brand on Disney+ that launched across Europe in February this year, adding hundreds of TV series and movies alongside a slate of Star Originals this year, including recent additions Grown-ish, Dollface and multi-Academy Award-winning Nomadland.
