THE WALKING DEAD To Air Less Than 24 Hours After The US In The UK From 2014

One of the biggest complaints from UK fans of The Walking Dead is how easy it is to have the latest episode spoiled by American viewers before the AMC series finally airs five days later on Fox. Well, we now have some very good news for you! Hit the jump for further details.

Fox UK have confirmed that they are bringing their scheduling of The Walking Dead forward in 2014 so that it airs less than 24 hours after premiering in the US on AMC. Up until now, new episodes of the hit series have been shown on Friday nights, but when the second half of the show's fourth season resumes in February 2014, the broadcaster will start airing episodes on Monday nights. This is good news for UK fans who are sick of shows like this being spoiled in the delay between when they air in the US and are then shown on the other side of the pond, and should also help decrease illegal downloads of The Walking Dead moving forwards.

Oh, I actually kind of enjoy watching them on Friday nights. It's kind of like a reward for getting through a
hard week of college.

[frick] yeah! Although...I don't really care to be honest since I usually uhm...you know...download them illegally the day after it aired in the US lol...but still good news since I've been a bit lazy lately,so if I forget to DL the episode...or can't be arsed to do so I can just wait for Mondays now.

I don't think UK fans have much sympathy for Americans when they get to see and spoil American Blockbusterr movies a week or two before its released in USA. It is what it is but it would be nice for shows and movies to be released internationally at the same time.

UK always get all the good movies first, sometimes up to 2 weeks before its released in the USA. So waiting 5 days for a show is something you people in the UK deserve, lol.

Here in Brazil they airs it on Tuesday.

But as just another human being, I can't stop myself and download it!

Also, Fox Brazil quality is HORRIBLE!!

It looks like 360p.

Sorry UK, if you don't want the show spoiled then turn off your computers and stay off of media outlets where you know you're going to see spoilers. WE'RE GONNA KEEP POSTING THEM!
P.S. Hershel does indeed die this Sunday!

@slider13

In principle,I would agree with your opinion that fans should avoid articles on a tv
show or movie if it has already been released in some other market first.

The problem is in the case of the Walking Dead, this site plastered the events of a key episode on the home page.European fans didn't have a choice to not click on an article about that nights episode of Walking Dead.

What should they do,avoid the whole website for five days to avoid spoilers being plastered on the home page?

As an American,I avoid Marvel Studios film articles when they come out first in the UK.I sure would hate it if somebody posted key twist for a Marvel film (which some jackass did as retaliation for the Walking Dead) inside some article that had nothing to do with Ironman 3.

In the end,the biggest enemy of the geek community can be itself if we stop respecting each other.

@Slider13 -- yeah, cause that's what EVERY American says and does when a Marvel film comes out in the UK first.
