New Synopsis And Images For Next Month's Return Of THE WALKING DEAD Tease "All-Out War"

AMC has released a detailed synopsis for the second half of The Walking Dead season 7, and it makes it very clear that Rick and co. are going to have a war on their hands when they stand up to Negan...

AMC (via EW) has put out a lengthy synopsis for February's midseason premiere of The Walking Dead, and despite things seemingly looking up for Rick and the gang last time we saw them, this breakdown suggests there are still trying times ahead.

Fans of Robert Kirkman's source material will likely be aware that the arc which finally sets Rick and Negan on a collision course is titled "All Out War", and it looks like that's exactly what's on the agenda.

The first half of Season 7 saw Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group broken by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), forced to fall under his will and brutally convinced to live under his rules. The second half of the season will focus on preparing for war and gathering the supplies and numbers to take Negan down once and for all.

Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose – to defeat Negan – it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable. We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before.

We’ll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.

This obviously confirms that Ezekiel and his Kingdom will join in the fight against The Saviors, but these "new survivors in incredible places" also sound interesting - could that be a reference to The Oceanside Community Tara discovered a few episodes back?

We'll find out more when The Walking Dead returns on February 12, but in the meantime you can check out some new promo stills below.

Hot chick ratio is way off for a zombie apocalypse.

I couldn't get into this show. It isn't violent enough.

I mean, yeah it has blood and gore, but it doesn't contain any of the true horrors an apocalyptic event would certainly bring around.

If anyone has ever read Cormac McCarthy's 'The Road' then you may agree regarding true horrors.

They really need to step it up with the second half of this season as the first half has been the slowest TWD has been so far.

The show just lost my interest. I don't care what happens anymore.
All they do is find a sanctuary, fight a bad guy, then run away to find a new home after they get overrun by zombies. Again and again and again. Where is the story headed?

Did anybody post this yet?

This is apparently a toy version of 'Ayesha' the villain from Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

This season has been very Slooooooowwww almost to the point of boring. The say that Walking Dead is one of the most expensive shows on Tv together with Game of Thrones. So where is that pay-off of all that money that they spend. Give me a battle of the bastards. I am all for character development but they have gone overboard with that this season.
