Tonight's hour ended on a shocking note as we learned that Lala (William Catlett), who died in episode two, is still somehow very much alive and there may be something supernatural behind his resurrection, which can't be good news for Black Lightning (Cress Williams), who has his own set of problems now that Inspector Henderson (Damon Gupton) considers him the number one suspect in Lady Eve's (Jill Scott) murder.

Next week, Jefferson will look to Anissa (Nafessa Williams) for some help in clearing his name. Meanwhile, Gambi (James Remar) will continue to deal with the fallout of Lady Eve's demise and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) begins interning for Lynn (Christine Adams).

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a New Orleans neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Black Lightning features:
Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning
China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce
Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce
Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce
James Remar as Peter Gambi
Damon Gupton as Henderson

Black Lightning returns with an all-new episode March 6

Freeland is already like catching up to Earth-1's Central City. Some metas here and there, abudcted kids due to weird experiments, serums and now the dead are no more dead.

Where is Constantine when you need him?

It'll be fun if Lala is actually dead, how could Black Lightning beat him now?

Its been a very strong start to the week so far with shows. Excellent Legends episode, great Flash episode, and pretty good Black Lightning episode.

1. Legends
2. Flash
3. Black Lightning

We know SHIELD is going to kick all the ass, so hoping Arrow delivers a strong episode!

Really good show, my favorite CW by far (well, with The 100 but that doesn't count). I love everything about it except few minor things:

1) His suit really looks like a toy, I hate it. It's Black Lightning, not Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift damn it!

2) I love Anissa (someone called her Lesbian Thunder in those comments a couple weeks ago, that was funny), but I also dislike her "costume". I know it's gonna change (and she actually gets a better costume than Jeff), but they really went all-out whorish. She's absurdly beautiful, but man, what a tacky costume. And I like tacky lol

3) Her power requiring her to take a deep breath is really lame, sorry. She should just focus, concentrate, and that's it. The breathing part is very corny and unnecessary. It takes some of her badassery away.

4) The music is GAR-BAGE. I really like hip-hop, and that's just… wrong. The small jingle with the guy saying "I saw a superhero and he was black, he said it's for the streets Black Lightning's back" makes me cringe every single time. This show deserves way better hip-hop if they really want to go that way and be cliché. So many great artists out there. This band isn't.

5) I feel sometimes they really go out of their way to shoehorn the words "[racial slur]" or "negro", and it also makes me tick. Especially when the cop called Jefferson that in a friendly way in episode one. I know people do that, but a cop over 40 calling his friend the principal "negro" while standing on his mowed lawn really felt weird. From Toby, I expect it, he's a racist [frick], it's the character, but the cop, I don't know.

And that's it. I love this show!

Ok, is this good in a "if you like the Arrowverse you'll like this" sorta good, or is it something different?

@BruceParker - Quite different. Not that many #feels, and the characters are more likeable. The story takes itself more seriously.

@BruceParker - quite different. Its an all around mature show. I wouldn't say the characters are more likeable, only a small handful (one hand) of characters are interesting but none have anything on some of the Arrowverse characters. But it is a very good, strong show that has its own story to tell.

So we're getting Swan, uh? It'd be nice if the League of Assassins got involved as in the comics, though.
