"The Book of the Apocalypse: Chapter Two: The Omega" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

Program information TBA

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a New Orleans neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Black Lightning features:
Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning
China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce
Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce/Thunder
Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce
Marvin "Krondon" Jones III as Tobias Whale
Damon Gupton as Inspector William Henderson
James Remar as Peter Gambi
Jordan Calloway as Khalil Payne/Painkiller

Uggh. A pretty MEH episode tonight. This has been such a disappointing season, I kind of just am looking for it to be over. These episodes continue to not really be that interesting or appealing (though the promo for the finale looks decent).

Anyways, there were a few things I liked. For one, Lala was good (and probably the best character tonight). His line "Death is knocking but ain't nobody home sweetheart" was pretty badass. Very interested to see what happens with Lala going forward, and glad to see that he seems to be here to stay (they really stressed tonight that he can't die). One question though: so the guy that brought Lala back to life worked with/was involved with Lady Eve?

I also really appreciated the montage of Jefferson remembering Jennifer growing up, that was nice. Also, never thought I'd hear the words "Hammurabi's code" uttered on this show, lol!!

Other than that, didn't really care for the rest of the episode. Jennifer acted like an idiot and I really dislike when characters do that. Don't care about the Grace-Anissa storyline. Tobias storyline just is so much less appealing this year. And the stuff with the ASA isn't overly intriguing either; after setting the ASA up at the end of season 1, they really dropped the ball with them this year.

Liked the episode, this half has been slightly better than the first one and have made peace with that Season 2 has been like a bridge taking us to hopefully an even better story like in S1 due to a lot of stuff that have been introduced.

I liked Jefferson establishing his rules to his daughters and touching on their flaws like Jennifer's eye-for-an-eye attitude (although very understandable) and Anissa's reckless behaviour with her powers as Thunder as a "Black Bird". Feels like if it comes around all nicely next week they'll be a good team in S3.

How long will it take for Lynn to realize Odell knows all of them, even their rules?

So it seems the entire MoD team is up and ready but if I saw correctly judging from all the radiation keypoints Gambi collected there should be 1 more prison meta that hasn't woken up yet, they are five and only four were woken up.

MoD members such as Shakedown and Coldsnap appear to be the most comic accurate ones, whereas Heatstroke received the genderbent treatment going from a woman called Joanne in the comics to just being "Joe". That guy was intense and dangerous. Flash S1/Pre-Legends!Mick would be besties with him. And New Wave wasn't called Rebecca in the comics but it isn't that much big of a deal.

I wonder if later we'll see Mudslide, Windfall and Dust Devil. (Wendy might turn out to be Windfall...)

Anissa used her brain to realize Grace was the shapeshifter. Now what?

Jace is gonna try to usurp Cutter, hmm.

Jefferson remembering how Jennifer used to be as little was touching, think it was triggered by seeing how excited and happy she was about her suit.

I hope Gambi is okay after cooling Jennifer's powers down.

And yes, it took me a while and that angle of the room where Lala was talking to that guy to realize that they were at Lady Eve's morgue. Interesting that he seems to be the one able to resurrect people.

I just hope all the MoD aren't defeated in one go next week, I would settle for a retreat after Jennifer controls her Lightning powers.

Hope Lala eventually learns to use his tatoos the way they are used in the comics
