Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a New Orleans neighborhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Black Lightning features:
Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning
China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce
Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce
Christine Adams as Lynn Pierce
James Remar as Peter Gambi
Damon Gupton as Henderson

Black Lightning returns with an all-new episode February 13

This episode was soft. I know I think will pick back up next week. My favorite scene was when the drug dealer asked for a pic with Black Lighting before he knocked him out

A weaker start to the week with comic book shows. I feel like Flash and Black Lightning, while different from one another, were both in the same territory of "good not great" this week; a better Flash episode, and weaker BL one. Hope Arrow picks it up, now that we can't rely on SHIELD for the next month.

1. Flash
2. Black Lightning
3. Supergirl

Lots of set up this episode, but overall still pretty good. Black Lightning is still staying pretty consistently good and I'm liking the various arcs they've been setting up.

Another solid episode. Slower than the others but it set up some good things. Also it added more to Whales character. Still leagues ahead of the other CW shows to me.

I love Anissa and as aggressive as she can be, I thought it was hilarious how bold she's become. She was walking around with that "I wish a n**** would" syndrome now.

Not sure what they're going to do with Jennifer now, she doesn't seem to be going in any clear direction that isn't involved with Khalil but I think whatever it is will materialize soon.

Two bits was funny and Jill Scott is amazing. I thought I was tripping when she had the guy on the table. Then yea, he was totally still alive.

Not strong but a good developmental episode.
