KRYPTON: Superman's Legend Is Changed Forever In The New Promo For The Season 1 Finale: "The Phantom Zone"

After a bombshell reveal, next week's season finale of Krypton may, in fact, change the legend of Superman forever as Seg-El and company put a completely insane plan in motion to take down Brainiac.

Tonight's penultimate hour featured a shocking twist as it was revealed that General Zod (Colin Salmon) was the son of Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) and Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), which means that one of Superman's greatest enemies is actually his uncle - at least he is in this continuity.

While it remains to be seen whether or not Syfy will grant the series a second year, it looks like it's uncertain renewal status isn't going to stop it from having an absolutely explosive finale as Seg-El and company race against the clock to take down Brainiac while also attempting to keep the threat of the unstoppable Doomsday at bay.

Watch the new promo for the season one finale, titled "The Phantom Zone," below:

Set two generations before Superman ever heads to Earth, Krypton follows Kal-El’s grandfather (played by Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The series comes from producers David Goyer (the Dark Knight trilogy) and Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow). Along with Cuffe, the show stars Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons), Ann Ogbomo (World War Z), Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness), Wallis Day (Will), Aaron Pierre (Tennison) and Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones).

Krypton features:
Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El
Georgina Campbell as Lyta-Zod
Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange
Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex
Ann Ogbomo as Jayna-Zod
Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em
Rasmus Hardiker as Kem
Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex
Blake Ritson as Brainiac
Ian McElhinney as Val-El
Colin Salmon as General Dru-Zod

Krypton returns with an all-new episode on May 23

This show is interesting to me, I find it to be mildly pointless in existence, but it's really well done FX wise and superbly acted.

And their Brainiac is 100% on point so far. "Black Zod" confused me at first since it feels like MoS/DCEU continuity, but again, it's so well done that I just don't even worry about it.

Intrigued what a Season 2 would be about, hoping for the best and maybe a Superman tease/appearance.

Is Doomsday a sexy for no reason 20-something in this, like Smallville? I mean, that's how these things go, don't they?

@Luminus - haven't seen tonight's episode yet, but from what they showed previously, he looks pretty much 100% comic accurate in a stasis chamber of sorts

@xfan320 - So, he's going to wake up and kill the whole planet, right? 'Cause, you know, there's no Superman around to stop him and the kryptonians are basically just like humans.

I really hope this show gets another season. Its quickly becoming one of my favorite CBMs.
Dunno how i feel about them making Jor-El and Zod half brothers but whatever this show is great.

Was super psyched for this show until all the little inconsistencies started raisin their ugly heads. They should have just made it a direct prequel show to Man of Steel.....instead its a mish-mash of MOS + some of the other live incarnations + the comics. Wont be botherin with S2.

@emeraldtaurus - Why do people need it to be in any continuation? Not eveything needs to be connected or an exact retelling of a story youve read in the comics. Let them tell their own story and add to the mythos of these characters...just like they do in the comics.
