Tonight's penultimate hour featured a shocking twist as it was revealed that General Zod (Colin Salmon) was the son of Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) and Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), which means that one of Superman's greatest enemies is actually his uncle - at least he is in this continuity.
While it remains to be seen whether or not Syfy will grant the series a second year, it looks like it's uncertain renewal status isn't going to stop it from having an absolutely explosive finale as Seg-El and company race against the clock to take down Brainiac while also attempting to keep the threat of the unstoppable Doomsday at bay.
Watch the new promo for the season one finale, titled "The Phantom Zone," below:
Set two generations before Superman ever heads to Earth, Krypton follows Kal-El’s grandfather (played by Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Along with Cuffe, the show stars Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons), Ann Ogbomo (World War Z), Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness), Wallis Day (Will), Aaron Pierre (Tennison) and Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones).
