Following an extended San Diego Comic-Con trailer, DC Studios has released a new SDCC-exclusive poster for Lanterns.

The new trailer seemed to go over well with most fans, but the show's marketing hasn't exactly set the world on fire up to this point, and this latest artwork is once again a little on the bland side.

@Cryptic4KQual has also revealed the titles and runtimes for the first four episodes.

EP 1: Pilot - 57m; EP 2: Trust Fall - 52m; EP 3: OutKast - 54m; EP 4: The Weenie - 52m.

The titles don't really tell us much, but the spelling of and capitalised "K" in OutKast is interesting.

Partners though they may be, Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) aren't exactly best buds when the series begins.

“Aaron’s got this great way of giving me this look — and he could if he wanted to — like he wanted to break my neck,” Chandler told EW in a recent interview. “We were in the car one day and I said something about wisdom, I think. And this was pivotal: Aaron shot back, he goes, ‘Yeah, but you’re old.’ Now I’m good at giving it, but I can take it. When he said that old thing, it was my turn to give him that look. That was a dynamic that we ran with: wisdom versus age.”

Lanterns is set to debut on August 17 and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. The pilot episode is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, who are co-creators for the series. Mundy serves as showrunner. The first two episodes are directed by James Hawes, with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov also tapped to direct. The series is executive produced by Mundy, Lindelof, James Gunn, Peter Safran, King, Ron Schmidt, and Hawes. Based on the DC comic characters from Green Lantern.

The series stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, Nathan Fillion, J. Alphonse Nicholson, and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

"This is a story of a couple of Green Lanterns John Stewart and Hal Jordan," James Gunn said of the project when it was first announced. "We have a few other Lanterns peppered in there but this is really a terrestrial based TV show which is almost like True Detective with a couple of Green Lanterns who are space cops watching over Precinct Earth in it they discover a terrifying mystery that ties into our largest story of the DCU."

Nice titles and good runtimes imo…

Also I’m really liking the dynamic between John and Hal which mirrors their initially comic relationship filled with tension & friction but I don’t particularly like the over-confidence and hostility the former seems to have against the latter though I’m sure it will make more sense within the context of the season.

Anyway , the show looks so good thus can’t wait to see it!!.

I own the first 100 Silver Age GL comics because that was my dude growing up. I think I know GL pretty well. Outside of Sinestro looking a little less groomed than he should be, and Hal's shoulder pads, this was a really good trailer. The show itself will probably have a lot of "WTF?" moments but at least for now, for me, it's a good start.

The trailer did set the world on fire 🔥

I'm at comic Con at the moment and everyone is talking about it! They're giving out limited edition posters too!

From what we were told, the marketing push is about to start heavily going forward.

Also, little birdie going around is saying that Gunn has a surprise for us coming this week. Most likely an announcement for upcoming projects!
