LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Actor Victor Garber Was Nervous About Continuing FIRESTORM Without Robbie Amell

When it came time for Firestorm to make the jump from The Flash to Legends Of Tomorrow, Victor Garber was hesitant to do so after he learned Robbie Amell wouldn't be making the jump with him.

Firestorm debuted on The Flash with Victor Garber playing Martin Stein, and Robbie Amell playing Ronnie Raymond. However, when it was decided that the characters would be coming over to Legends Of Tomorrow, a new partner for Stine needed to be found as Amell could not reprise his role as Raymond. That partner came in the form Franz Drameh who plays Jefferson 'Jax' Jackson.

Garber recently talked to Digital Spy about making the jump and his apprehention about it. "I was nervous about it," Garber said. "Robbie and I are friends and we had such a great time together, so when it was not an option for him to do [Legends], I was very nervous. But I went in and did a chemistry read with Franz and the minute I met him, I just had this sense that this casting was a really good idea. He's one of the most inventive and interesting people I've ever worked with."

He then went on to talk about what he enjoys most about working with Drameh, "I love him, and I really find him challenging – he raises my game, because he's so inventive. I think he's a great addition and I think that he provides a dynamic that the show can really use, so it's been great."

With the ever changing, and rotating cast, Garber says that the show really found its footing in season two. "I think we found our stride in season two," Garber said. "There's been a huge bump in people's appreciation for the show. "Starting originally with it being eight principals... it's a very challenging day. When you have a scene with eight people, sometimes you can lose your mind... it's really hard. So the changes... I think in a way it's been good."

Legends Of Tomorrow season three will premiere on The CW on Tuesday October 10, 2017.

@Ha1frican - Season 2 is where they just embrace the weirdness of time travel

@Kevwebsz - my problem is that i realized i dont care about literally any of the characters, even in the comics. Even the 1 character I cared about (Captain Cold) they have reduced to a mustache twirling one liner factory and i just couldnt do it anymore

@Ha1frican - Wentworth Miller's portrayal of Captain Cold has always been super-corny! He's only a few steps removed from Schwarzenegger's Mr.Freeze!

@JonF - yeah but he was used infrequently enough that it was fun when we'd see him when he's a series regular it got old FAST

@Nightmare - Damn right. I love the show. Just wished it used their travels to encounter in each or well in most episodes an obscure DC hero from the time period they visit instead of just focusing on the Legends interacting with the real historic figures. I think if Legends did that, had a special guest starring DC hero in every week with their voyages, it'd be perfect.

I enjoyed the second season WAAAAAYYYYY more than the first. I found a few episodes to be hot garbage....Camelot 3000 jumps to mind, but I've heard it's enjoyable for Monty Python fans), but the dynamic was DEFINITELY better.

Sarah as the Captain turned out great, and Evil Rip Hunter was FVCKING AWESOME. When he broke Sarah's neck, i jumped off my couch....FANTASTIC.

I really hope the show continues on this upward trajectory...

For me last season:

1. Arrow
2. Legends of Tomorrow
3. Supergirl
4. Flash

Flash really went downhill for me last season, really hope they turn it around...

@Talontd - yeah LoT was MUCH better in Season 2. Ditching the Hawkgirl & Hawkman was a huge help. Sarah as captain made it even better. I only wish that Captain Cold was back for good. They need to keep going all out and making it more and more comic-booky (if you know what I mean). This show should be fun and give us a chance to explore more of the DC universe.

Garber on ALIAS was amazing. He really is talented. I am also surprised he is on a superhero show.
