UPDATE: LEGENDS OF TOMORROW EP Teases METAL MEN Appearance

Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim teases the appearance of another Time Master and his metal creations. Will other Time Masters appear as well? Or is this simply a reference to a Daily Planet rival?

Legends of Tomorrow may feature Metal Men

There's already one Time Master confirmed to appear on The CW's Legends of Tomorrow but executive producer Marc Guggenheim just dropped a major cool clue that a second Time Master may also appear. Arthur Darvill's Rip Hunter is a Time Master, a member of a group of heroes who patrol the time stream to thwart those who corrupt or alter the main timeline for personal or evil reasons.  Another member is Will Magnus, famed DC Comics scientist whose most noteworthy accomplishment was the creation of the Metal Men -  artificially intelligent robots, named and based on various periodic elements including Iron, Gold, Platinum, Tin, Mercury and Lead.

The roster of the Time Masters has changed during various times but notable members include Hunter, Booster Gold, Dr. Fate, Magnus, Cave Carson and others.

There's a huge focus on The Time Masters right now on DC's Legends of Tomorrow but what about their nefarious counterparts, the Time Stealers. A maniacal team consisting of Black Beetle, Despero, Per Degaton and Ultra-Humanite. The Time Masters have also tangled with Vandal Savage and his Illuminati.  Given the nature of this group and the fact that we're dealing with immortals and quasi-immortals, perhaps it will be revealed that Savage is a longtime ally of Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) and Damian Darhk?  Could Darhk's H.I.V.E. and al Ghul's League of Assassins be splinter groups from Savage's Illuminati?

There's also the possibility that Guggenheim is just hinting at the inclusion of NewsTime, a fictional DC Comics newspaper that once employed Clark Kent aka Superman.  It could be that the Metal Men reference on the cover was unintentional.  Stay tuned for more details on Legends of Tomorrow, which currently began filming the pilot episode last week.

UPDATE: It appears that the hint from Guggenheim was indeed just for the show's inclusion of NewsTime.

Can't wait for this show!!

Also, it could be that Vandal Savage, Damien Darhk, and Ras Al Ghul are the pillars of the Illuminati.

I'd be shocked if they show up in Legends of Tomorrow and the reason is because WB had plans for a live action movie of them. A year ago it was rumored a Booster Gold movie would be one WB wanted to make and now it was brought up again. So if you go back and look at that rumor they had plans for a Metal Men and Deathstoke film too. So hopefully with Blue and Gold becoming a movie the other ones will too.
