Ray Palmer Tries To Become The New Captain Cold In Clip From Tonight's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Without The Atom suit, Ray Palmer has found himself seriously underpowered in Legends of Tomorrow. Well, Heat Wave has given him Captain Cold's gun, and he's learning to master it in this clip.

Tonight's episode of Legends of Tomorrow will take the team to the 1980s, but will Ray Palmer once again be left on the Waverider? Not if Heat Wave has anything to say about it! Despite the fact that The Atom suit has been destoryed, Ray still wants to be a hero, but he could be about to embark on a slightly darker path now that he's been given the deceased Captain Cold's freeze gun and goggles.

How long this status quo will last for Ray remains to be seen, but it's a pretty fun direction to take the character in until he can somehow be reunited with his suit (and not a bad way for The CW to save money on special effects for a few weeks). We know that Captain Cold is going to return to Legends of Tomorrow as a member of the Legion of Doom, so he'll likely have something to say about this...

When the Legends trace a timequake to President Reagan’s White House, they are shocked to discover their old enemy Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) is now a Senior Adviser to Reagan. As the team works to uncover what Darhk has up his devious sleeve, Sara (Caity Lotz) struggles with the choice of getting revenge or helping with the team’s larger mission. Thinking that the JSA members could be of help, Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano) break into the JSA and are surprised at what they find. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) tries to prevent his younger self from creating an even bigger time Abberation. Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell and Brandon Routh also star. David Geddes directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & Grainne Godfree.

Captain Cold is the best character in this TV universe, Wentworth Miller is fantastic in the role

@SimplyAz - He was so good he overshadowed everyone else though.

@Buckster10 -

So true

@SimplyAz - I don't mind Miller's Snart, but I've always wanted to see a Justie League Unlimited Captain Cold. I'm talking middle-aged, orders-milk-at-a-bar-for-his-ulcer petty crook with an uncharacteristic set of morals, not an over-enunciating young guy who's full of himself.

@BrettMan -

Maybe we'll get a different interpretation in the movies

@Spidey91 - I can't believe Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill and George Newbern agreed to do this crap.

@MrAisA - they agreed on Killing Joke too :P
I think this looks cool. definitely getting Teen Titans vibes from this (the original show, not that GO sh*t).

@Spidey91 - Original Titans wasn't bad. I still prefer Justice League and JLU.

@MrAisA - well, different. TT was going more for an anime look and humor.
I guess YJ season 3 is going to be more for the teens and young adult demographic with JLA having more of a general audiences and kids appeal. which is great, having something for everyone.

@Spidey91 - Still haven't seen Young Justice.

@Spidey91 - Hmm this looks cool. It's like a cross between JLU and Teen Titans. Like Justic League set in the Teen Titans universe. I like it.

@Spidey91 - What irks me is this idea that there has to be a separate something for everyone. What made the DCAU beautiful was that I could watch it when I was little and love every super villain-punching second of it, and then when I hit an age of reason, I caught on to the more subtle and nuanced storytelling aspects. Shows like Superman TAS, Batman TAS, and Justice League were great because they perfectly epitomized shows for everyone. The stories were simple enough that little kids could "ooh" and "aah," but also contained enough subtle implications of complexity to keep adults fixated, too.

In other words, I want more of the same because what we had was already perfect.

Ray Palmer is one of the best parts of this show. Now that they've destroyed his suit, he'll be looking for a way to supplant the old powers with new ones. I wonder what happens when the Cold Gun zaps a piece of dwarf star matter.

Hahaha I actually laughed when he tried to be cool and leaning. So job done. Actually believed ray a bit when he said "call me haircut again.."
Still disappointed that the atom suit has gone but hopefully itll come back in a big way.....see what I did there nerds...??
For real...hope it transpires that he won't need the suit eventually.. Like the comics and that he transport himself through electricity and shizz...
