SWAMP THING Adds RIVERDALE And EXTANT Actor Henderson Wade As Matthew Cable
As DC Universe's live-action Swamp Thing continues to round out its cast, the latest addition is Henderson Wade (Riverdale), who will play an incarnation of well-known DC Comics character, Matt Cable...
We brought you guys the news that Matthew Cable would be a part of DC Universe's Swamp Thing series back in June, and now an actor has been cast in the role.
According to Deadline, Henderson Wade (Riverdale, Extant) will play this small-screen take on Cable, who's described as "a Louisiana lawman who finds himself in dire straits when supernatural evil threatens the town he’s sworn to protect."
This character should be familiar to fans of the early Len Wein Swamp Thing comics as well as Neil Gaiman's Sandman (it's a long story, but remember Morpheus' raven Mathew? Same guy), although the show appears to have made a few alterations to his established origin.
Swamp Thing is being developed as a one-hour show, and has Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) and Gary Dauberman (It) on board to write the pilot. They'll also executive produce alongside Michael Clear and James Wan. Len Wiseman will helm the first episode.
