SWAMP THING Casts Former THE WALKING DEAD Actress Jeryl Prescott As Madame Xanadu
The DC Universe announced earlier today that their upcoming Swamp Thing series has added former The Walking Dead and Ray Donovan actress Jeryl Prescott as the blind fortune teller, Madame Xanadu.
The DC Universe has officially announced today that Jeryl Prescott (The Walking Dead; Ray Donovan) has joined the cast of Swamp Thing in a series regular role as Madame Xanadu. While further details are being kept under wraps for now, she's being described as "a centuries-old sorceress who finds herself reluctantly drawn into battle against the escalating supernatural forces plaguing a small Louisiana town. A blind fortune teller and magical crusader, Xanadu’s heart is in the right place despite her unorthodox methods in the fight against evil.”
She's the latest addition to the cast, joining Crystal Reed (Gotham), Maria Sten (Straight Outta Compton) and Jennifer Beals (The Last Tycoon), who will play Abby Arcane, Liz Tremayne and Sheriff Lucilia Cable, respectively. It's also been rumored that Derek Mears (The Flash) will portray the titular beast, but nothing has been confirmed on that front just yet.
James Wan (Aquaman) is serving as an executive producer on Swamp Thing along with Mark Verheiden (Daredevil), Gary Dauberman (It), Michael Clear (The Nun), and Len Wiseman (Underworld). Wiseman is also set to direct the pilot, which was written by Verheiden and Dauberman.
