First Official Poster For GAME OF THRONES Season 6 Seemingly Confirms The Fate Of 'Jon Snow'

HBO has released the official poster for the sixth season of Game Of Thrones, & with it they've revealed not only the show's return date, but also, the long-speculated fate of Kit Harington's Jon Snow!

Well, as per usual, Game Of Thrones returns for its eagerly-awaited sixth season in April. HBO confirmed the fact earlier this morning with the debut of the first official teaser poster for Season 6. However, as you can see below, the premiere date was the least interesting aspect of the poster...

For months now, fans have debated on whether or not Jon Snow had truly perished at the end of last season or whether we would see him resurrected in the upcoming one, seeking vengeance on those who had wronged him and his family. Eagle-eyed photos of Kit Harington near the Game Of Thrones set (in costume, no less!) more or less gave away the surprise, but now with the poster, HBO has seemingly confirmed that Jon Snow will more than likely appear in the upcoming season, otherwise it would be first time in the show's history where they've used a deceased character to promote an upcoming season.

Check out the poster below:

Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues.

It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all play the 'Game of Thrones.'

An original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.

I agree. This doesn't confirm anything. Awesome poster though.

@darthbastard well he isn't in a lying down position, so I guess they are saying it confirms he will be sitting or standing in season 6. Big reveal.

Will it be on his own or will the night's watch prop him up ...

Do you think they'd be putting out a poster of Jon if they weren't bringing him back next season?

So is the bigger deal here that they are saying April? That new show HBO added this year has GoT's time slot through April 24th so is GoT getting a new time slot?

Game of Thrones Season 6 : Jon Snows roaring rampage of revenge. Since he's died, he's now immune to all the bad shit that hits all the good people.

I could be wrong, but it seems like the overall story seems to center around Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen as the main protagonists. Every thing else is basically just showing how they (and their allies) got to where they are by the end. And hopefully the end is a massive, epic battle against the forces of the Others.

I never even considered that he's dead...

You know why? Cos' he ain't dead. He just isn't, plain and simple

Honestly, I thought the same thing everyone else was because I looked at the poster before reading the article, "what does that reveal", and den I read the article and understood what @Rohan was saying.

I'm surprised with all the effort they've gone through trying to keep his fate a secret that this is how they are revealing this....are we sure this is legit?

Anyone with half a brain cell knew he was coming back before his body hit the ground. For the few who actually believed he was gone still should have been wise to it by now with the leaked photos from the set the last couple months.

This just proves that we know nothing.

. . . and the producers have a knack for lying.

I'll say technically he was killed in the final, Melisandre could resurrect him thus releasing him from his Night Watch vows...

@Omegacron

"A Song of Ice and Fire". IE: John Snow and The Mother of Dragons. And, maybe a double meaning if you buy the theories on Snow's lineage.

Getting stabbed and falling down ≠ dead.

Head chopped off, burnt to death, buried = dead.

Panning shot of a bloody guy and fade out = to be continued.

Jon Snow dying would release him from his vows and free him up to inherit the Stark's land and titles as long as someone legitimises him after he's brought back.

Beric Dondarion died 6 times...if Thoros of Myr can bring someone back Melisandre could technically too seeing as they're both followers of the same God.

@Canon108 - That's cool man, thanks for telling em about that.

I still didn't get that he was dead from his final shot of last season.
