Game of Thrones Showrunners Field Questions About Season 2 On The Emmy Red Carpet

David Benioff and D. B. Weiss talk to MTV on the Emmy Red Carpet. "Everyone is in danger....we don't have a contract to follow the books...."

Interesting....MTV's Josh Horowitz brought up Jason Momoa, stating that we will see him again in Season 2 and the shows creators respond "Jason's got a big mouth", rather than state that it was false. If you read the books and watched Season 1 you know that it would be a big deviation from the books to have Khal Drogo return in Season 2. Are you ok with HBO [possibly]making such important changes to the source material? Sound off in the comments section below. Oh,and here's what George R.R. Martin himself thinks about changes being made to his thousand page tomes.

Game of Thrones is an American medieval fantasy television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The series is based on author George R. R. Martin's best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire series of seven planned fantasy novels, the first of which is called A Game of Thrones. The series debuted in the U.S. on April 17, 2011. Game of Thrones has been extremely well received, and has garnered a loyal fanbase. The series was picked up for a second season on April 19, 2011, two days after its premiere.

I laughed out loud when he was like "Yeah, he's not "Hollywood" strong, he could actually tear you in half."

As much as I adored Khal Drago his return would F*** up Dany's story as the previous poster stated. As long as they relegate his return to flashbacks then I guess it can't hurt.

@hawkngo - Really? You do realise there's a million porn sites catered for people like you? No need to sit through 50 minutes of nothing that interests you just to get a sniff!

Yeah... Having Drogo in flashbacks would be cool, but I cant see them resurrecting him, it'd be way too much of a deviation. It'd be comparable to bringing Harry Potter's parents back or killing off Legolas & Gimli or something...

I agree, it would make no sense to bring Drogo back and would totally jack up Dany's arc in the series. If they did it and it came across wack, as I suspect it would, I'd likely lose interest in the show.

Most likely it would just be flashbacks. Dany gets certain "urges" in the books and always thinks back to Drogo. Might just be an excuse to get her naked more.

He was great as Drogo and like everyone is stating, it's probably going to be flashbacks. It will probably be something that helps Dany become stronger and a true leader. The question is, are they going to resurrect Conan, because they ruined that movie?

well...since i HAVEN'T read the books, i was quite surprised when that character actually DIED. also in regard to Ned Stark's unfortunate fate, which i thought only happened on the series, but not the books (i was wrong of course).

but having read thru the summaries of all the books so far (yup..i couldn't resist and WAIT til the adaptations get to the fifth or seventh book, which hasn't even been written yet), i must say, there seem to be a whole lack of leading characters staying alive til the end of the story. and that's where i think a deviation or more from the books are probably needed. sides, a few surprises for those who HAVE read the books might be nice, don'tchathink??
