HOUSE OF THE DRAGON: The Dance Of The Dragons Begins In The New Season Finale Trailer For "The Black Queen"

Alicent has made her move and now, it's time for Rhaenyra to make hers, which means the Dance of the Dragons has finally arrived, and it looks like it's going to get off to an explosive start.

The Dance of the Dragons is finally here!

Following Alicent's (Olivia Cooke) bold decision to go against her late husband's true intentions by placing her own son Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) on the Iron Throne, the Targaryen Civil War has officially gotten underway, and it looks like next week's finale will see Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) respond with some big moves of her own.

There aren't any real spoilers in the new promo, outside of the promise of an explosive start to the power struggle between the Blacks and Greens. However, if you've read the book, you'll surely recognize some of the high-flying events it seems to be teasing for next week, and there seems to be an increasingly good chance that some heartbreak is on its way before the credits roll on episode ten.

Check out the new preview for the season one finale, titled "The Black Queen," below:

Season One features Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, with Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, and Savannah Steyn.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.

Another great episode, but not sure how I feel about Rheinys coming and killing a bunch of civilians with her dragon and then not actually doing anything to the usurpers and just leaving. Felt a little out of place and just shock value.

@MrDandy - That bothered me as well but then I started thinking. If Rhaenys had killed the Greens it would be treason and all of the realms would revolt because they wouldn't know the truth. At that time the ravens were sent out to notify the other lords of each region of Aegon becoming king. Now Rhaenys can warm Rhaenyra and Daemon and gather the Valerion army and help shape Team Black to reclaim the throne properly. Team Black now has 6 or 7 Dragons at their disposal.

@SonOfAGif - exactly. If she roasted everyone no one would know the truth

This show is such a watered down version of GOT

@MuadDib - it's a more personal, character driven Game of Thrones.

This episode was a boring filler. They spent 45 mins looking for Aegon in flea bottom. Finale better step it up.

Great episode! Seems like the finale will be worth it for the dragons alone.
