The 'Three-Eyed Raven' Is Cast In GAME OF THRONES Season 4

Bit of a confusing one this, but it seems that the mysterious 3-eyed bird from young Bran Stark's visions will actually be a character in the fourth season of HBO's Game Of Thrones. Read on for more details..

I'm sure fans will recall the 3-eyed raven (crow in the books) from Bran Stark's visions in a couple of episodes of the show, and those that read the source novels will be even more familiar with him. Well now he's actually been given a voice (and maybe more?) for the fourth season. According to his agency resume, British actor Struan Rodger has been cast in the role of "the Three-Eyed Raven." This character manifests in Bran's visions after he's left crippled by his fall in the very first episode, and seems to hold to key to him realizing his destiny. Whether Rodger will only provide the voice of the bird, or actually play the raven as a human is unknown. Rodger is a familiar face in British film and television, with roles in the likes of The Thick Of It, Law and Order UK and Doctor Who.

Yup, nice to see I'm not the only one who thought of a certain very catchy song...! ^^

I have to admit that Bran's arc has always been among my least favourite parts in the books. But I, urm, can't really say more without taking non-readers deep into spoiler-country.

@ ror:

Re-read the books then. The 'raven' is much much more than a raven. There is nothing confusing about this news at all.

But again, I've never understood that elitist thing the book readers have over the show watchers. And if you've read em and simply didn't retain every detail, that's understandable as it's a ton of info to take in.

Are you guys talking about the tree dude they meet in the last book? That's not gonna be him! I guarantee you this is a manifestation of the actual raven from his dreams.
Hodor

The raven is a manifestation of the tree dude. Even if he is in a dream sequence you'd want the same actor to appear later on, right?

@ror, the tree dude is the raven. pretty clear.

@ ror:

You can keep fighting us on this, or simply say oops I was wrong. I'm not sure what's so hard about simply admitting. Oh the raven is just the tree guys manifestation of him trying to contact bran.

All that's gonna happen is more and more people who know the books are going to keep posting "@ ror, re-read the books..."

But it's your call bud.
