Game of Thrones HBO

From developer Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive:

The game will be released for PC, XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 15, 2012. And of course, Season Two of the acclaimed HBO series kicks off this Sunday, April 1st on HBO.

Official Synopsis:
Along the 30 hours of gameplay offered by Game of Thrones, play as Mors, sworn brother of the Night's Watch, and Alester, a Red Priest in search of redemption who is back to Westeros after a long exile. The Hand of King Robert Baratheon has just passed away, and these two charismatic heroes will find themselves dragged in a grand quest that will lead them through familiar and gorgeous places of Westeros, such like the Wall and its region, or the famous King's Landing. In this grand adventure, they will meet famous faces: Queen Cersei, Varys the Spider or Jeor Mormont, the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch faithfully reproduced from the TV series.

In Game of Thrones, you will choose the class of your characters, find your fighting style, reach a good balance between your strengths and weaknesses, and get ready for epic battles! Find, buy or loot new equipment and weapons to fit your approach of the fights, and gain experience to improve your skills or learn new ones. Slow the time down during battle to analyze the situation and choose your next moves. TheShartKnight waits until his mother goes to sleep in order to start trolling. He can't stay on too long or she'll kick him out of the basement. He pays for his computer time by scrubbing her fat folds. He gets 15 minutes per fold. That means one session nets him about six hours of computer time. He does type comments like he has a speech impediment, though.

I have no idea where the books take place in relation to the TV show but the game takes place after King Roberts Death. Which (SPOILER) in season 1, it didn't happen til late in the season. So I'm guessing all of this is sort of new scenes really. But then again, I have not read the books so I could very well be wrong.

@Gusto
Xbox is way better than PS3. AGREED

You lost your "Skyrim who?" argument when you said "30 hours of gameplay".

That isn't something to boast about.

Firstly and most importantly, do you even play Elderscrolls games? Probably not. If you did you'd realize that George R.R. Maritn probably does too as his Thrones series is VERY much like the Elderscolls series.

Further more I'd go so far as to say it was possibly direct inspiration for the book series as the first game in the series, Arena, was released in 1994 and the first book in Martin's series was released in 1996.

That being said, don't insult one of the most revered rpg series of all time to put over Martin's book series videogame adaptation. Martin himself most likely wouldn't appreciate it.

CBMers:
Elderscrolls V: SKYRIM is one of the most epic videogames EVER (especially on PC).
Don't let this article's title sway you to think otherwise.

Yeah it looks cool, but it trembles in fear and appreciation to the godliness of Skyrim.

Elder Scrolls > anything else.

The "A Song of Ice and Fire" books and so far the TV series are pretty much on point hand in hand. Book 1 "A Game of Thrones" was season 1 of the series and gives name to the series itself. Book 2 "Clash of Kings" will just be referred to as Game of Thrones: Clash of Kings for the 2nd series. Let the GoT CoK jokes commence.

lol, every discussion on here dissents into an argument over who's opinion is better. PS3 versus 360. DC versus Marvel. Nolanites versus Avengers. Seriously?

PC>all consoles. I've got a PS3 and 360, but I'll probably buy this on PC when it's released. <3 Game of Thrones. Can't wait for Clash of Kings to begin Sunday.

@Rokker10

You forgot to mention that the 360 has out sold the PS3 by at least 2 to 1

I bought the original white 360 5 years ago and have had no issues with it....I just a PS3 slim and the audio went out after 3 days, so I had to return it. Hope the replacement doesn't have any issues. I looked online and apparently a LOT of people have had audio/video issues with the PS3.

Skyrim is really good and is a great value, but after you finish the main quests and the major sub-quests it gets a little boring....guess there is such a thing as too open-ended.

Playing Skyrim right now. Level 27 Redgaurd. :)

I actually prefer Oblivion anyway. Once you know how to work your leveling, it's a much more suspensefull exploring experience than Skyrim. The only thing that brings Skyrim up to the same level are the random dragon encounters, which eventually still get old.

@ Rokker

I have 360, and i'm actually on my 3rd one due to the red ring. However, each time i've gotten it, they've replaced my system for free.

having said that, I also have a PS3...or, HAD a PS3...

I say HAD, because it just stopped working after about a year and a half of owning it. You think Sony replaced it? nope. Oh, and the same thing happened to 3 of my friends that all own PS3's as well, just at various times.

So neither system is guaranteed to work nonstop 100% of the time. But I'm sure glad that Microsoft at least owns up to, and recognizes the red ring problem and fixes it free of charge.

Thats a game changer to me.

(just finished finding Shalidor's Insights in some Dwemer ruin for the libraian at the College of Winterhold with his Level 55 Arch-Mage Harbinger Dovahkiin, Zobens Dieva. The illegitimate half-Nord, half Dunmer son of Talos and Queen Barenziah who Tiber Septim THOUGHT he had aborted after he found out he had impregnated the young queen of the Ashlands)

See that? My created character for Skyrim is about a billion times more epic than anything ever written.

-shout out the adventurers out there who've avoided an arrow to the knee-

BillyM67, the Ps3 is poised to pass the X-box 360 in sales soon.

Ps3 still sells at a decent rate, X-box 360 not so much.

I like Skyrim (and I'm 3 daedric artifacts away from a plat), but I gotta say I'm a bigger fan of Bethesda's work on the Fallout series. Before anyone gives me crap about "darrrr. Interplay. uh-duurrrr", that's not what I'm here for. Just saying this GoT game just looks old and rehashed from sooo many before it. I'll check the demo, but I'm skeptical.
