After promising the biggest battle in the show's history,
Game of Thrones delivered with an installment that was every bit as tension-filled, gut-wrenching, devastating, shocking, and ultimately as satisfying as we were all hoping for as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) of Winterfell finally put an end to the Night King (Vladimír Furdík) and his Army of the Dead.
Unfortunately, Winterfell's triumpth didn't come without its casualties as a number of major players lost their lives in service of the living, including Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer), Dolorous Edd (Ben Crompton), Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey), and Melisandre (Carice Van Houten).
Next week, it's time for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and everyone else left standing to regroup and refocus on the task at hand: take the Iron Throne back from the Mad Queen Cersei (Lena Headey), which is undoubtedly going to be easier said than done.
In Season 7, Daenerys Targaryen has finally set sail for Westeros with her armies, dragons and new Hand of the Queen, Tyrion Lannister. Jon Snow has been named King in the North after defeating Ramsay Bolton in the Battle of the Bastards and returning Winterfell to House Stark. In King's Landing, Cersei Lannister has seized the Iron Throne by incinerating the High Sparrow, his followers and her rivals in the Sept of Baelor. But as old alliances fracture and new ones emerge, an army of dead men marches on the Wall, threatening to end the game of thrones forever.
