Many people were not fans of Marvel's first season of their live-action show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I however, liked the later episodes of the season, and am greatly looking forward to it's second shot on the air this September. The show's Facebook page has released a new shot, teasing the writer's room, as it seems the writing team is heading back to the production stage. Take a look below!

In the wake of The Battle of New York, the world has changed forever. An extraordinary landscape of wonders has been revealed! In response, mysteriously resurrected Agent Phil Coulson assembles an elite team of skilled agents and operatives: Melinda May, Grant Ward, Leo Fitz, Jemma Simmons and new recruit/computer hacker Skye. Together, they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. But every answer unearths even more tantalizing questions that reverberate across the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe: Who is "The Clairvoyant”? What is Hydra’s sinister master plan? What dark secret lies behind Skye’s puzzling origins? And most importantly of all, who can be trusted?

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grand Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.

You'd think that they would have already written the season 2 premiere. Nope...

Why?

@Comedian03

Well, that still seems within the proper timeframe. I doubt it takes more than a few days to write an episode, especially if they already have a season outline...

@Nomis

Season-long arcs are a huge part of AoS...

Season 1 - Centipede, the Clairvoyant, Mike Peterson/Deathlok, Coulson resurrection, Skye's parental mystery...

They just don't shove the connections down your throat every single episode. They put shit inbetween, and they connect things subtly. It's one of the things I love about AoS.

@themidnightking

The season will be split in 2 parts. If I remember correctly, there will be 10 episodes, then a break while Agent Carter runs for 8 weeks, and then AoS will continue with it's final 12 episodes of the season.

Agents of Sh!t is a joke. Not that I give a crap about Marvel, but them saying that it tied into their "cinematic universe" was disingenuous at best. All it really did was play into moments from the movies, like a glorified highlight reel. Otherwise, it barely had anything to do with the movies in any real, organic way.

For that matter, it had little to do with the comics, either. People watch comic book movies and shows for the actual comic book characters. This should only had a bunch of Z-list characters, that nobody gave 2-ish's about. And most of them weren't even superheroes.

Marvel painted themselves into a corner with this show. They barely limped thru the first season, and IMO, the only reason they green-lit a second seasons is A) to spite DC, since they knew DC was going to slaughter them on the TV side of things, and B) to save face, because they knew this show was a FAIL.

Try as they might, they couldn't capture the "magic" from the movies with this show, and they knew it. Which is why the people attached to the show were calling the fans "losers and haters" because the fanbase was thoroughly dissatisfied with the show.

So what does Marvel do? try to bribe the fans with 30-second clips of Samuel L Fury, and Robert Downey Stark. When that failed, they intro'd Agent Coulson's GF (ooohhh, intriguing!!). When that flopped, they brought in Lazer-Tag Armor Deathlok, which failed even worse.

I say again: Marvel might be ahead of the game with the movies (for now), but DC is SLAUGHTERING them when it comes to live action. They always have, all the way back to the 50's.

And it's only going to get worse; DC will have as many as 5 shows on TV by the end of this year, with more on the way (and nearly all featuring major characters), and all Marvel will have is Agents of Sh!t, and Welcome Back (Agent) Carter, which nobody is excited to see.

What a joke.

That I can deal with. Last season it kept losing momentum because of too many breaks. But since Agent Carter is there as a space filler between its only break, that should keep a lot more people coming back

I wish this show was as fun as Firefly. Not really excited for this show like I am for Flash and Constantine, who both had enjoyable pilots.

Also, it kills me that people seem to think that Marvel is ahead of the game in comparison to DC, when it comes to multimedia.

The reality is, Marvel is light years behind, and has only begun to caught up, because of the movies.

In the live TV realm, Marvel is sorely lacking, in terms of quality and quantity. DC has been holding that crown for DECADES, while Marvel didn't have a successful TV show since the 80's with the Hulk.

In the animation realm (both in TV series, and animated movies), Marvel is sorely lacking, in terms of quality and quantity. DC has been holding that crown for DECADES.

In the video game realm, Marvel has been sorely lacking. They started out strong, but faultered along the way, and now DC has picked up the torch and ran with it.

Comics-wise, I'd say they are neck and neck. Marvel only ekes out a lead, but that's only because of their constant gimmicks (variant covers, never-ending events, constant relaunches/"All New #1's", higher prices, etc). If you take away all of that, I'd say Marvel and DC are about even--perhaps even with DC coming out with a slight lead.

So the only thing Marvel has as a true success, is the movies. But that's because they've put all their eggs in the movie basket, and neglected all other forms of multimedia.

AND, let's not get it twisted; Marvel has WAY more 'FAILS' than DC does when it comes to movies.

Spidey 3 -- FAIL
Blade Trinity -- FAIL
X3 -- FAIL
Ghost Rider 1 & 2 -- FAIL
FF 1 & 2 -- FAIL
First Wolvie movie -- FAIL
Punisher 1 & 2 -- FAIL
DD -- FAIL
First Hulk movie -- FAIL

What are DC's worse movie failures?

GL
Jonah Hex
Catwoman
Steel
Superman Returns

That's 5 DC fails, vs Marvel's 12.

And let's face it, some of these "MCU" films are mediocre at best, but people are afraid to admit it.
