LAST CHANCE TO AVOID BEING SPOILED... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! S.H.I.E.L.D, in the MCU, has been taken down, along with Hydra, by Cap himself; Agent Coulson and his team will/are effected by this the most. Without S.H.I.E.L.D's backbone supporting Coulson's team, the bus is now the only resource they have, unless they take control of one of S.H.I.E.L.D's facilities. We know in Avengers AOU S.H.I.E.L.D will still not exist in the MCU, so if AOS gets renew, there will be at least one full season without S.H.I.E.L.D being around. The question on everyone's mind is where is the show going to go from here; S.W.O.R.D has been a big theory by many, while also being mine, so I'll explain why I think it may happen.
Joss Whedon:
S.W.O.R.D was created by Joss Whedon, and with him directing the Avengers, the first episode of AOS, staying on as a producer of the show, and being a consultant with the rest of the MCU films post Avengers, incorporating and intelligence agency that, in the comics was made a subdivision of S.H.I.E.L.D and created by Joss himself, would make a lot of sense.
GH.325:
While not 100% confirmed yet, the creature in which the drug that saved both Coulson and Skye, is most likely Alien, possibly Kree. If the Alien influence in the show grows, which it may since S.H.I.E.L.D is no longer able to help protect the earth, S.W.O.R.D would be the perfect way to go with the show, since they specialize in Alien threats.
Skye:
We know that Skye is an 0-8-4, and object of unknown origin, and it's been teased that she has powers, by the male agent that helped save her. It's also been teased that Skye is not her real name and I for one do not believe Marvel would keep her name a secret if she wasn't a character from the comics. We know she had a much different reaction to the GH.325 drug than Coulson, which I always believed it was due to her actually being alive when given it, but with Coulson constantly stressing it on the show, I believe it may be more than that. We also know very little about her parents. So where am I going with this? I believe she may actually be Abigail Brand head of S.W.O.R.D. In the comics we know very little about Abigail's past, such as Skye, we know that Abigail can speak alien langueges, and create blue energy in her palms, and it was teased that Skye has powers, we know that Abigail's father is alien and her mother gave her the X-gene, and that could explain why Skye had a more positive reaction to the alien drug, and the thing the Clairvoyant wants from Skye could be the MCU version of the X-gene. Also from the beginning of the show to now, Skye has slowly becoming more badass; she's a better figher and better with weapons, so I believe they are slowly turning her into a more comic accurate Abigail Brand.
