Even Stan Lee Wants To See Some More Interesting Characters In AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Have you been hoping that we'll soon see some more interesting heroes join the beloved Agent Coulson and, er, the rest of them? Well, Stan Lee has now shared his thoughts on Deathlok and Sif coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., emphasising the necessity for more "colourful" characters.

In a desperate bid for higher ratings this coming Tuesday's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will feature a "surprise" cameo from comic book legend, Stan "The Man" Lee. Talking to IGN Movies recently, Lee was asked to share his thoughts on how the series has headed in a different direction to the comics by focusing on Agent Coulson and a team of unknown characters. "Well, I guess they felt they had to have some normal people — or seemingly normal people — and certainly Clark is doing a very good job playing the role. I just feel that we also need more colorful characters to be popping up all the time. I don't mean that Clark isn't colorful as an actor, but what I mean is characters who as comic book characters are more colorful." As for whether or not he believes that the upcoming appearances from Deathlok and Sif will help fill that quota of colourful characters, he added: "Yeah, that will be great. I think that's what the show needs. I think people will tune in to see those characters and will enjoy seeing them in the context of being with normal people on a normal mission." What do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

This show has all the quirkiness of a Whedon show without the charm.

@gannicus

One of the show runners, I forget who, said that they have a solid 2 year plan for AOS. I'm guessing this show was always meant to be at least 2 seasons.

If Gregg doesn't apologize on twitter or somewhere for calling people losers because they had an opinion, I'm not watching the show again. Such a shame, it was really getting better but I don't want to support bullies. Next time, think before you open your mouth Clark!

What Stan Lee really meant is, "Get rid of AOS shitty show runners."

It's funny that even he thinks this show is downwind of its potential.

Many, many "great" shows sucked in their first half or even first full season...Arrow wasn't nearly as good as it is now, that's for sure...Breaking Bad was almost cancelled (and passed on by four big networks, including HBO)...Seinfeld and Friends barely made it past their pilots...give them a full season at least, they can address the criticism and short-comings...

On a totally different note, watching "After Earth" - could be the worst acting ever from a kid...just go away, and Will seems to have lost it too...bad acting, bad movie...

Seriously Josh, what crawled up your ass? You act like Jed Whedon kicked your dog or something. If this shows puts you in so much agony, why report about it at all? Oh that's right, fuel for flame wars and confirmation bias.

Stan Lee usually says what he really thinks about the movies and stuff. Not always, and even when he does he is diplomatic but at least he isn't like 'OMG this is perfect, everything is perfect, I love everything'.

People here only support Stan Lee when he agrees with their opinions. Remember that time he said Superman's ability to fly was less logical than Thor's? Everyone was foaming at the mouth, calling him a hack and praising Jack Kirby, etc.
