First Look At Mathew Willig As 'Lash' On AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

We did have that brief silhouetted glimpse of the monstrous Inhuman in the first teaser for Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3, but now Marvel has released our first proper look at Mathew Willig as Lash. It's safe to say Coulson and co. are going to have their hands full with this fella...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns tonight with "Laws Of Nature", though we're not sure if we'll see Lash debut in that episode or not. This first proper glimpse of the character is still shaded, but it definitely gives us a much better idea of what to expect, and he does seem to be fairly comic-accurate. What do you guys think?

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for an action-packed third season, with Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Agent Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet) leading the charge as S.H.I.E.L.D. searches the world for more powered people in the aftermath of their epic battle with Jiaying and her army of Inhumans. However, Coulson and the team soon find out that they are not the only group looking for these new Inhumans. New faces, both friend and foe, will join the series, including the no-nonsense, highly-skilled and somewhat mysterious leader (Constance Zimmer) of the ATCU (Advanced Threat Containment Unit), her intimidating partner, Banks (Andrew Howard), Lash (Matthew Willig), a monstrous Inhuman whose loyalties remain ambiguous, and new Inhuman Joey (Juan Pablo Raba), who is struggling to harness his newfound abilities, among other surprising characters. Coulson, with the help of Daisy and Mack (Henry Simmons), will work to slowly assemble a team that is stronger than ever before, combining the highly skilled Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with powered individuals in the hopes of protecting the innocent in a world where the balance of power is ever-shifting, and new dangers are constantly emerging.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

But I'm never going to get back into this series unless they nut up and introduce SPIDER-WOMAN.

For Christ's sake, she's a perfect fit for this show-- a former Hydra spy who joins the good guys when she realizes just how badly Hydra manipulated her. They've even given her a scaled-down costume in the comic books that would looks perfect on television!

The rights shouldn't be in dispute, now that Spider-Man is in the MCU. And she's never gonna get her own movie. Hell, her last ongoing series only lasted seven issues, and it was being written by Bendis! So I don't see why they aren't using her here.

(The only other thing I could see them doing with her is giving her her own Netflix series... but that would miss out on the really obvious tie-in potential to the ongoing S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. Hydra story. Seriously, GET HER ON THIS SHOW.)

He looks like the porcupine monster from Fringe.

And that's not a knock against his design.
