Stan Lee To Have A "Big Role" In An Episode Of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Marvel Comics legend has confirmed to THR that he'll have more than just a cameo in an upcoming episode of the tv series, and the site have also posted a BTS snap of Lee alongside executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen, and stars Elizabeth Henstridge and Clark Gregg.

Rumors had swirled, and really, after making a cameo appearance in every Marvel Studios movie so far it was probably only a matter of time before we saw Stan "The Man" pop up in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. According to THR his character remains a mystery, but Lee will likely appear in an episode on February 4th - though that's subject to change.

His best cameo so far was in TASM. Even if you didn't like that movie, you have to admit that was awesome.

Still, the whole 'old man being oblivious' cameos are getting kinda old. I wish they'd do something new. I'd love it if he cameo'd as an army vet or something, and came out shooting at the bad guys with a Gatling gun.

Hopefully his role on this show is a little more refreshing.

Wasn't he just some guy that got interviewed at the end of the Avengers!? What possible big role can he have?

Sounds excruciating. But will it be as bad as Cary Bates and the tacky vanity of putting himself throughout Flash #228?
Probably worse.

You're getting worse, dude. @Marvelous and @Remy are probably gonna find you and stab you.

Stan Lee being in an episode should be great fun.

Oh, and @Joe

EVERYTHING in AoS is Marvel. It's made by Marvel. We've discussed this before.

While I have no intention of believing it to be true, it WOULD be hilarious if he did end up being the Watcher as some have mentioned above. Perhaps the AoS team could actually be tracking the same man through all of Stan's old Marvel cameos, only to find that he was always the same cosmic being who has been observing the formation of the avengers.

Again, I know this won't be the case.. I just think that ACTUALLY sounds like an interesting idea for an episode and leagues more clever than what this show has been doing so far...

Fingers crossed for tonight..

@ Xfan

I have to say I actually think that is a really good idea!!!!!!
xfan320
xfan320 - 1/7/2014, 11:02 AM
^^Yea, it seems like a totally original idea, that actually adds a layer of depth to his cameos and real excitement... He would be almost like a time traveling tourist seeing all the sites, trying to get the best peek and souvenirs from his journeys. (The general in CA:TFA and trying to pull the hammer for himself in THOR)

The only real problem with doing something like that, would've that every Stan cameo would have to be "watcher related" from now on in these films..
xfan320
xfan320 - 1/7/2014, 11:13 AM
I don't care who he plays though, the man is 91 YEARS OLD!!!

Holy crap, I hope he never slows down! He's almost a superhero himself now in a way!

GERIATRIC MAN!!! Someone that the elderly can REALLY look up to!!!

Or is that already Gusto's moniker..?
BritishMonkey
BritishMonkey - 1/7/2014, 11:16 AM
He's got to be Uatu The Watcher as we all know that's his real role in the movies.
Cameos, pfft. There is no such thing in a Marvel movie.

Jomama29 is no threat to me or my family, so I pose no threat to him. Joe and others act as predicted on every SHIELD article without fail. I actually find their predictability quite funny.
MsDarkPhoenix
MsDarkPhoenix - 1/7/2014, 11:36 AM
Does he get paid for those cameos? Or does he just want to appear alongside the characters he created?

Oh wait, that's AoS, he didn't create any of those characters.

@TDP he's the face of marvel essentially. So he will show up on everything
