DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN - 8 More Costumes We Want To See The Man Without Fear Wear In The MCU

Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock made his MCU debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and ahead of the Man Without Fear suiting up in She-Hulk, we have some thoughts on the next costumes we want to see on screen...

When Daredevil appears in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it will be in his original red and yellow costume. That decision surprised fans, but based on what we've seen of the suit, it looks fantastic in live-action.

While it could be the Man Without Fear's permanent look in the MCU, we'd be shocked if the hero doesn't shake things up both in Echo and 2024's Daredevil: Born Again. Looking at the comic books, Marvel Studios has lots of great costumes to choose from, and we've now picked out some of our favourites, ranking the suits we're most excited to see in the MCU.

Unlike a lot of other superheroes, there's usually been a very good reason for Matt Murdock to change his look. With that in mind, there are lots of ways these could be incorporated in his small (and hopefully) big screen adventures moving forward.

To check out which Daredevil costumes we hope to see brought to live-action, click on the "Next" button below!

8. Shadowland

In Shadowland, Matt Murdock fell under the control of a HYDRA demon known as the Beast and set out to take over Hell's Kitchen and New York City. It was a rubbish story, but one that led to the introduction of one of the hero's most unique costumes.

Clad all in black, Daredevil took on something of a demonic appearance with red eyes, suitably devilish horns, and a logo on his chest that looked like it was written in blood.

We're not keen on the idea of this storyline being adapted, but it would be cool to bring this costume into the MCU. How? Well, as part of a nightmare sequence would be fun, especially if it's Wilson Fisk dreaming of his old foe. There is a supernatural side to the Man Without Fear's adventures, so perhaps this could be used during a team-up with the Midnight Suns.

7. The "Suit"

28738273823

When The Kingpin orchestrated it so that Daredevil's secret identity was revealed to the world, Matt Murdock's life was obviously left in disarray. He even spent some time behind bars, though would later embrace his newfound status quo by confirming that, yes, he and the Man Without Fear were one and the same.

This came at a time when Matt was struggling with his mental health, and wearing this three-piece suit and embracing both sides of his persona ultimately caused more problems than it solved.

Still, we'd love to see this somehow referenced in the MCU, even if it's as simple as Matt cheekily donning a red suit (minus the "DD" belt buckle) for a special occasion. It's a really fun design, and one that deserves to be seen in live-action at some point.

6. Secret War

Secret War shouldn't be confused with either version of Secret Wars as it was a very different type of story. With no other choice than to invade Latveria, Nick Fury assembled a group of heroes who he outfitted with special costumes for that mission...and wiped their memories afterwards.

It would be fun to see a take on that story somewhere down the line, but Marvel Studios should definitely consider using this suit as a basis for what Matt Murdock looks like in Daredevil: Born Again.

With black arms and legs and a distinct red chest, this takes the best of many previous Daredevil costumes and combines them in an aesthetically pleasing way. There are other suits we prefer here, but if the MCU heads down this route, it would be no bad thing.

5. Man Without Fear

839283293

We know what you're thinking: this has already been featured in Netflix's Daredevil TV series! Well, while that show adapted Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.'s interpretation of the hero's first "costume," it actually looked quite a bit different on the page.

Basically a hoodie, some black pants, and a black piece of cloth (along with white sneakers), this was the very definition of a "homemade" superhero outfit.

It's unlikely that Marvel Studios will revisit Daredevil's origin story in the MCU, but a flashback to an early meeting with The Kingpin, for example, could be a great opportunity to deliver a comic accurate take on this costume. Alternatively, it's something the hero could don in the present day should he, for some reason, find himself without a suit.

4. Back In Black

839283293w

While similar to the Shadowland suit in some respects, this recent black costume for the Man Without Fear could look phenomenal in live-action. What makes this pop is the red contrasts with the mainly black suit, and this might be exactly what the hero needs to protect the mean streets of Hell's Kitchen at night.

With the red eyes, belt, logo, tape around his wrists, and boots, we think this version of Daredevil would look nothing short of badass in live-action.

We've seen the red suit on Netflix and will soon get to watch 'ol Hornhead kicking butt alongside She-Hulk in the red and yellow. This feels like a logical next step in some ways, and providing it doesn't become too busy in terms of design, it could go down as a true classic.

3. Armoured Suit

839283293w

This is an interesting one, especially as it's usually considered one of Daredevil's worst costumes! Created during the 90s, there's no denying that the design is overly busy and typical of that period.

Despite that, we can see Marvel Studios' talented concept artists dreaming up a version of this suit that looks great on screen, and all they need to do from there is find a good storyline reason for its existence. The MCU's Kingpin is quite a bit more powerful than his Netflix counterpart, so perhaps Daredevil will need armour in order to protect himself against that villain?

We're sure Wilson Fisk won't be the only bad guy he faces, of course, and a suit like this might also come in handy against the likes of Bullseye, Gladiator and, dare we say it, Stilt-Man.

2. Elektra's Daredevil Costume

839283293

Okay, we're cheating a little here, but Elektra was Daredevil for a time (in fact, she's still wearing this costume as we write this). We'd like to think Marvel Studios has plans for this character in the MCU, even after Netflix dropped the ball on her story by killing her off ridiculously quickly.

This world can hopefully move on from that, and having Elektra also fight crime as a Daredevil would be a blast to see.

We don't know how long Charlie Cox is committed to the role, but by the time Daredevil: Born Again is released, the actor will have been playing Matt Murdock for a decade. Perhaps that would be the right time for the character to pass the mantle, with Elektra taking over as the MCU's Woman Without Fear?

1. The Classic Red

839283293w-2

Sometimes, the simplest answer is the best one, and that's the case with this character. Yes, we've seen the hero wear a red suit in his Netflix series, but it wasn't exactly classic Daredevil.

Heading into Daredevil: Born Again, it makes all the sense in the world for the Man Without Fear to don a classic costume with that "DD" logo front and centre. For some reason, the emblem doesn't even appear to be on the red and yellow version, and we're hoping Marvel Studios will change that as his MCU adventures continue.

When it comes to this costume, keeping it simple would be wise and moving away from the busy design of the past is the best possible option. Either way, we just want to see this suit on screen before Cox's tenure as the character wraps up.

First, come on. Most of these we aren't gonna see bare minimum for a long while (and by then Charlie cox might talk about retiring from the role).

And really? You're talking about getting a female replacement for daredevil right when we got Charlie back? This would be like bringing Jane foster as Thor in the 2011 movie.

I hope we get at least a hint about Elektra in the show.

I still think the running joke should be that Daredevil thinks his suit is all black.

I’m ok with any DD suit they pick but they better use his armored suit in secret wars.

Like all these choices except man without fear and the suite doubt we will see armor look

The suit would definitely be fun to see, and I think a black one with red accents could really work as well (depending on the direction they're going in)

What a shitty list of costumes. The armored one? The repeat from the original show... We need to see maybe 2 or three at most suits. Yellow, classic, and maybe a black/red but the DD on the chest is a must.

Sorry, but the all red just looks better. Don't care for the red accents.

I'm honestly fine with them not putting the DD on his suit, but apart from that I'd love to see him in something even closer to the classic red suit than the Netflix version. And they could still incorporate the DD in other, more subtle ways, like maybe his belt buckle vaguely resembles DD or something.

I dismissed this article after I saw this under 3. "The MCU's Kingpin is quite a bit more powerful than his Netflix counterpart, so perhaps Daredevil will need armour in order to protect himself against that villain?"

I'll be happy with just the classic red costume and violent episodes.
