Deadline reports that Bosch star Clark Johnson is set to recur in and direct two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again for Marvel Studios.
While details about the character he'll play are being kept under wraps, the trade believes he's been cast as someone called Cherry. As far as we're aware, there's no one from the Man Without Fear's corner of the Marvel Universe with that name, so it may be a code to throw fans off the scent.
In fact, the only Cherry we can find is a young woman who slept with Clint Barton during Matt Fraction's Hawkeye run; something tells us that won't be who Johnson brings to life in the Disney+ series!
The actor's small screen directing credits include Your Honor, Mayor of Kingstown, Homeland, Luke Cage, and The Wire. On the movie side, he's helmed the likes of S.W.A.T. and The Sentinel.
As an actor, however, you might know him best for starring in The Wire and, more recently, Evil. In terms of Daredevil: Born Again's other directors, Michael Cuesta, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and Clark Johnson are among those also confirmed to be working on episodes of the show.
In other MCU news, the trade has shared a small update about Moon Knight star May Calamawy's future as part of that franchise. She's recently joined Sir Ridley Scott's Gladiator sequel alongside Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Peter Mensah and Matt Lucas.
In the report sharing that news, it's said that, "Marvel is expected to have big plans for her going forward." Even though there's still no news on Moon Knight season 2, it appears her newly created superhero is one we'll soon see in action again. Hopefully, she'll be joined by Marc Spector, a character it appears has fallen by the wayside as we head deeper into the incredibly busy Multiverse Saga.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to premiere on Disney+ next year.
