Marvel's Inhumans has had a very rough journey being realized in live action. Initially announced as a big-screen project, plans quickly changed after Ike Perlmutter was ousted as overseer of Marvel Studios, and Kevin Feige moved the film off of his slate and into the hands of Marvel Television.
Despite a hefty budget and being partially filmed with IMAX cameras, the property did not make a great transition over to television in the eyes of many fans, with the series as a whole being criticised for looking cheap and rushed. Low ratings certainly didn't help, and many believed the show could be cancelled after its first season. While no official announcement has been made regarding the show's future, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Ming-Na Wen (Agent Melinda May) may have accidentally revealed the truth!
Speaking at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest San Jose (via Screen Rant), Wen was quizzed about the possibility of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossing over with Inhumans, to which Wen replied, “I think that show got-”. Wen tried to cover her goof by following up with “Maybe I can’t multitask,” but it sure sounded like she was about to say "cancelled". Hopefully Marvel gives us a definitive answer soon, but the future really doesn't look too bright for Inhumans.
