INHUMANS Star Anson Mount Says There Have Been "Informal" Talks With Marvel Studios About Black Bolt Return

After his surprise return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Inhumans star Anson Mount has confirmed "informal" talks have taken place with Marvel Studios about Black Bolt's MCU future...

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness didn't include as many surprises as some fans had hoped for, but one of the biggest came when Anson Mount reprised his Inhumans role as Black Bolt.

Decked out in a comic-accurate costume, we got to see the extent of his powers when he reduced Earth-838's Doctor Strange to little more than a pile of dust. However, after crossing paths with the Scarlet Witch, his head was blown up from the inside out.

The hope is another of the Inhuman's Variants will eventually show up, and Anson Mount strongly hinted at his MCU future in an interview with Radio Times

"If the answer was yes I wouldn't be able to tell you," the actor responded when asked if a return is in the works, "but the answer is no, so I can. I've had some informal conversations with the powers [at] Marvel and it's a conversation, but they've got their current phase that they need to do."

"I don't know, we'll see," Mount added. "I would love to jump back into the cowl and do it again. I love Black Bolt as a character."

It doesn't sound like his Black Bolt return was necessarily a one-off, and while we don't anticipate ever seeing an Inhumans movie, we're guessing there may be plans for the team somewhere down the line (we've yet to meet his Earth-616 Variant, for example).

Marvel Studios will need to be careful when it comes to killing characters and bringing them back courtesy of the Multiverse, especially as that could lead to confusion among casual moviegoers.

Only time will tell what the future may or may not hold in store for the actor and character, though the fact talks have taken place at all is definitely promising.

Would you like to see more of Black Bolt in the MCU?

I loved that scene. It was a comic book page.

@TheManWithoutFear - My only nit-pic problem with that whole scene was that I didn't see as much as a cut or bruise or a torn costume on ANY of the other Illuminati other than their version of Dr. Strange. It gave the impression that Strange was the only one to have actually engaged Thanos in physical battle. 🫤

He was fine as Black Bolt in Doctor Strange 2.

Wouldn't mind seeing him return to the role.

Captain Pike is busy on another project Josh.
How do you write an article on this actor and not mention that he’s on a Star Trek series. That is on RIGHT NOW.

@ClintThaHamster - I'm callin' BS on your story!
Nashville was founded in 1779, not the Pleistocene era! Besides, Mr. Mount is only 50 years old, so, you see, Mr. Man, your whole story just falls apart from the start!

@Deadinside - lol, yeah, that's just how us olds talk about the good old days. Saying "27 years ago" makes me feel like an old man.

I'm a member of the "over 50" crowd by a good several years!👍☮

No, please don't. No inhumans. They just steal the thunder from the mutants. Don't tell me they are not the same thing. They basically are in all points that matter.

If the rumors about the Illuminati showing up in Deadpool 3 are true (and I'm assuming some alternate timeline version since Wanda killed the 838 version), then I'd imagine he may be in there for at least a short cameo appearance.

By the time marvel studios tries to use the inhumans he will have aged out.

Would like to see him return to the MCU, just not as Black Bolt. Think he'd make a great Reed Richards
