INHUMANS Star Anson Mount Says He Responded To James Gunn's Tweet With A "Lack Of Professionalism"

INHUMANS Star Anson Mount Says He Responded To James Gunn's Tweet With A "Lack Of Professionalism" INHUMANS Star Anson Mount Says He Responded To James Gunn's Tweet With A "Lack Of Professionalism"

Following yesterday's rather odd Twitter exchange between GOTG director James Gunn and Inhumans actor Anson Mount, the latter has backtracked (to some degree, at least) with a follow-up Tweet...

By MarkCassidy - Jun 17, 2021 03:06 AM EST

Anson Mount, who played Black Bolt in the now defunct Inhumans TV series, took issue with some fairly innocuous Tweets from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn yesterday, and the actor has now backtracked.

Gunn's comments about actors exaggerating their height to land roles clearly struck a nerve with Mount, but he did come to the filmmaker's defense when a follower called him a "nonce" (Brit slang for a pedophile), before suggesting that he may have overreacted (ya think?) to his Tweets and taken some of what he said out of context.

We weren't sure why Mount lashed out quite so vehemently, but he did explain himself shortly after the original Tweet.

Anyway, everything seems to be sorted now, but this just goes to show how even the most seemingly inoffensive things can be misunderstood and take on a life of their own on social media.

Now, let's start a campaign to get Anson Mount - as Black Bolt - in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Anson...

I wouldn’t say text and Twitter are to blame for such an unprofessional response. It’s clear Gunn wasn’t attacking anyone or saying anything maliciously, Mount’s response was way more aggressive than it needed to be

Love the use of Nonce and no one understanding it.

@BigPhilbowski -

Lol, love it
Orphix - 6/17/2021, 4:20 AM
@SimplyAz - "James is not a “nonce” (not that I know what a nonce is)".

This wins 'Most Hilarious Quote on Twitter for Today' Award.

@Orphix -

For all he knows he might be one.

Definitely a great quote.
WruceBayne - 6/17/2021, 6:50 AM
@SimplyAz - I had zero clue what it meant. I looked it up and it still didn’t make sense until I came across the Australian slang meaning and then I understood.
SimplyAz - 6/17/2021, 7:18 AM
@WruceBayne -

Yeah, I didn't know they used it in good old 'Stralia but it's used in England.

For anyone else who wants to know

Sounds about right...have a conversation..not an arguement...put them on a podcast, i'd listen.
TheManWithoutFear - 6/17/2021, 3:56 AM
I don't think Anson should backtrack, he didn;t do anything all that bad. In the context of the swamp that is Twitter.

But i am biased bc i like anybody that goes after James Gunn ;)
UniqNo - 6/17/2021, 3:59 AM
@TheManWithoutFear - why don't you like him?
TheManWithoutFear - 6/17/2021, 4:22 AM
@Jaykay21 - I think he's overrated. I don't particularly like his sensibilities or his attitude to projects. I know i am in the minority there but that's me.
UniqNo - 6/17/2021, 4:24 AM
Hmm fair enough. He does seem to have matured though, or that's how he presents himself through public domains. His Guardian's movies had heart, so i hope it's the same with The Sucide Squad, though i have a feeling it won't be. Very willing to find out though.
CAPTAINPINKEYE - 6/17/2021, 4:24 AM
Anson? No one cared what you said buddy. People who take Twitter seriously should….write a stupid article about what people say.
Battabing - 6/17/2021, 4:37 AM
Is Anson even addressing what Gunn is talking about?
Vigor - 6/17/2021, 6:01 AM
@Battabing - he's not. He's trying to be woke (not in an ironic way either) but he's also clearly butt hurt because he's an actual short guy. So he comes off as cringey
Hulkh8liars - 6/17/2021, 6:17 AM
@Vigor - the actor you keep calling short is just over 6 feet tall. I've seen him in person and he isnt short.
Vigor - 6/17/2021, 6:24 AM
@Hulkh8liars - I believe you. I saw a photo someone posted of him next to his costars on star trek and he appeared short there. Could be perspective
GhostDog - 6/17/2021, 5:05 AM
Lol wth
marvel72 - 6/17/2021, 5:53 AM
Nonce is probably the worst thing you can call someone,especially if they aren't.

Definitely worst than c#nt and prick.
soberchimera - 6/17/2021, 6:10 AM
@marvel72 - An American being called nonce.
Tasmaniac - 6/17/2021, 7:05 AM
@marvel72 - Nonce is supposedly Australian slang with the same meaning, but I think the only time I’ve ever heard it was like 20 years ago, and I thought back then it meant “idiot”! But you’re right, definitely worse. [foo foo] and prick are terms of endearment in Oz 😍
