The latest trailer for Loki has left us with even more questions about where the six-part series is taking us, but we do now know that the villain is tasked with repairing the damage to the timeline him making off with the Tesseract has caused. This is bound to tie into the idea of the MCU's Multiverse, though that hopefully doesn't mean random actors will be playing well-known characters.
Unless Marvel Studios enlists A-Listers to play the likes of Thor and Black Widow, that could give the series something of a "cheap" feel because the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson will be M.I.A. Time will tell, though, and we know better than to doubt Kevin Feige!
Regardless, the first official images from Loki have now been revealed, and they showcase key characters and moments from the series, though a couple of them are essentially just trailer screenshots.
In Loki, the imperious God of Mischief, who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is head writer. Recently, we learned the show will premiere on Disney+ on June 11th, 2021.
