By now, we're sure you're all familiar with the ongoing legal issues surrounding Loki and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors.
After being arrested back in March, the actor is facing charges of two counts of assault in the third degree, aggravated harassment, and attempted assault against a woman. Should he be found guilty, then his career is almost certainly over, as is his time as the MCU's Kang the Conqueror.
Majors has long maintained his innocence, claiming he was simply defending himself from a drunken attack by ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
Now, his lawyer has told Newsweek that Majors is "provably the victim here" after two NYPD precincts found probable cause to arrest Jabbari. It's said the actor presented police with evidence last week, with the result being that Jabbari has since been arrested for assaulting Majors.
It's currently unclear what impact this will have on the case against the Creed III star, though it certainly appears to go in his favour. Ultimately, it will be down to the District Attorney to decide what happens next and should the case against Majors proceed, his fate will be in the hands of a jury.
Marvel Studios recently delayed Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, with the unexpected benefit being that it gives them more time to decide how to proceed.
Majors remains innocent until proven guilty, and if the charges are dropped, there's no reason he couldn't continue playing Kang. There are a lot of factors to take into account, so only time will tell where things go from here.
Majors has already shot his role in Loki season 2, but there have been rumblings that the show ends in a way which could leave the door open to the actor being replaced (if he hasn't been already).
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
