Loki promises to finally reveal what became of the God of Mischief following his escape in Avengers: Endgame, and Entertainment Weekly has now shared a new still from the six-part series.
They also have some comments from head writer Michael Waldron. "My pitch for the show was kind of a big, crazy, fun time adventure," he reveals. "The TVA is just an entirely new world [with] a new cast of characters, and that’s what felt most exciting about the show: building a new corner of the MCU."
This image shows the Time Variance Authority with Loki in their grasp; as powerful as the Asgardian is, it seems they've found a way to weaken him (that or they're somehow stronger than he is).
In Loki, the imperious God of Mischief, who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is head writer. Recently, we learned the show will premiere on Disney+ on June 9th, 2021.
