The debut of Loki is fast approaching, and following those glowing reactions from critics, Marvel Studios has shared another TV spot for the Disney+ series. Tom Hiddleston fans will need to brace themselves, though, because this sneak peek puts the spotlight on the actor's impressive physique!
There are lots of other cool new snippets of footage, with the spotlight mostly placed on the Time Variance Authority. We also have a fun tagline for the series that declares, "Mischief is Timeless!"
In the production notes for Loki, director Kate Herron teases the scope of this particular story. "It’s not a two-hour story. It’s a six-hour story. What’s exciting to me about that is that we can now go down a slightly more mature and darker path with this particular story. But we can also subvert expectations, and maybe we don’t give viewers the story they would be expecting. It’s cool and fun to see a studio that wants to play like that and to be part of it."
In Loki, the imperious God of Mischief, who, after absconding with the Tesseract, is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in a world of trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs Loki, and Michael Waldron is head writer. Recently, we learned the show will premiere on Disney+ on June 9th, 2021.
