This week's fourth instalment of Loki season 2, "Heart of the TVA," concluded with a massive cliffhanger that seems to have somewhat overshadowed a rather horrifying scene from earlier in the episode that some are calling the most disturbing moment in MCU history.

Spoilers follow.

When Renslayer and Miss Minutes return to the TVA, they attempt to recruit General Dox and her Minutemen to their cause, and when they refuse, the ruthless Judge executes them in the most brutal way imaginable by slowly crushing them to jelly in a Time Cube!

We don't actually see any of the gruesomeness, but we can hear what's happening, and the look on B-5's face as he witnesses his friends' grim demise - not to mention Miss Minute watching with sadistic glee - really does make for unsettling viewing.

Check out some of the reactions to the sequence below, and let us know what you made of "the cube scene" in the comments section.

Loki season 2 "promises new excitement as it thrusts the infamous God of Mischief into a new set of adventures with the TVA."

Yeah that look on Miss Minutes' face said a lot. None of it good.

@Mugens - I think Miss Minutes is loving what she sees because she is slowly grooming Renslayer to become She Who Remains. Miss Minutes is a product of He Who Remains and knows that his variants won't give her what she desires. But Ravonna would and she needs to wake up the monster that's inside Ravonna to get her to the end of time.

Ii hope the quality of this show bleeds out into the MCU, along with the impending reset implied by the story

These writers need to touch some other corners of the MCU.

Yeah this season has been awesome. I'll never look at jello cubes, key lime pie, or spaghetti the same way 🤣

Loki may end up being the best thing post Endgame imo. Though Shang Chi has probably been my second favorite, they just keep abandoning too many characters/plot threads to really get invested in anything.. Which is why I adore seeing Loki actually doubling down on plot threads and explaining some of the multiverse nonsense in a logical/pseudoscientific way for the audience to process and understand the bigger stakes of whats happening to the fabric of time/reality.

Loki is essentially the RDJ/Tony Stark of the current MCU and is being CRIMINALLY UNDERUTILIZED at this point. He's the central protagonist of everything going on and they're not really doing much with him unfortunately. Though I'm happy to say it looks like season 2 is gonna have crazy big stakes by the end (just like season 1) so thankfully, it looks like it's driving towards SOMETHING. 🤔 I just hope they really can pull all the different characters and plotlines together again like they did before, because I don't think there's a Loom BIG enough to handle THOSE threads! 🤓

To me though, it feels like Loki and the TVA is gonna have to save everyone in the MCU/multiverse by the looks of that Chrono-explosion in the last episode. I'm curious to see how this all plays out in the whole Multiverse Saga though, because when Loki eventually shows up to save Thor in his hour of need (as a true brother), will essentially be a defining moment of everything they have been doing post endgame with the Loki variant stealing the Tesseract - his journey from being the biggest threat left hanging by the Avengers, to the savior of everybody and the reason the Avengers unite again FOR REAL will go down as the greatest moments of the MCU - much like the portals scene, or Cap lifting Mjolnir, "Avengers Assemble", etc..

Maybe I’m just desensitized, but it wasn’t a huge shock to me. It definitely put Minutes over as a real villain though.

They simply ran out of time.

Miss Minutes would make a great villain for Vision. Her finding Ultron lost in the dataspace and waking him up and Ultron making her physical form for her to be the MCU Jacosta would be a wild storyline.

The sound effects were pretty rough and leaving it all to the imagination wss probably the only way they were gonna get that approved

Pretty good, but this is coming after Punisher, Werewolf By Night, High Evolutionary's face, etc.

@Slotherin - The sound of like 20 people screaming while slowly being crushed is a bit brutal for people. Considering if you want to see someone being crushed in a cube in a movie go see the ending of Saw V. Talk about brutal and gruesome.

@SonOfAGif - it's definitely brutal. It's just that so were those others

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how they're going to resolve that ending because that was pretty huge if it was what it appeared to be. I literally said "Holy shit!" out loud when that happened. I mean the spaghettification was unexpected as it was but what followed really caught me off-guard. Now, I'm sure they'll use some sort of time-travel/off-screen shenanigans to undo what happened (and hopefully it will be handled well), but to paraphrase that legendary scholar and star of both song and screen Ricky Ricardo, "Loki, you got a lotta 'splainin' to do!".

There's a quality abyss between Loki and the rest of D+ MCU right now.

Sooo good.

No more sacred timeline, everything goes now!

@Fogs - It's as if Loki was written before Endgame -- it's completely top quality.

@GeneralZod - It's honest, good sci-fi with characters I give 2 shits about. More than I can say about most MCU D+ crap.

I feel like Miss Minutes only got a larger roll this season only because of the fan theories from season one about her being evil..

This is a good argument for letting our imagination do the work instead of showing us sub-par visual effects, CGI, and practical effects that make me cringe. Just show the reactions if you can't make what's happening look good.

@LSHF - You’re right. Timely’s death was lame , especially compared to this. I’m not complaining. I don’t really want to see gruesome, but that’s how his death was described in another article and it wasn’t so much. It looked too cartoon to be gruesome.

This probably shouldn't be my main focus in response, but I find it exceedingly annoying when someone says "why is nobody talking about _____" when a ton of people ARE talking about that exact thing.
