Marvel Television now falls under the control of Marvel Studios, and the likes of Helstrom and M.O.D.O.K. are being treated like "leftovers" from that previous era, and are unlikely to have any impact on stories told in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There is still some excitement surrounding the stop-motion series, however, and we now have a couple of clips from the Hulu show.
If it brings back memories of Robot Chicken, then that's probably because "Stoopid Buddy Stoodios" worked on the series, and it's a shame we'll never get to see what they had in store for characters like Howard the Duck and Tigra (the plan was to build to a crossover event with "The Offenders").
As we see here, M.O.D.O.K. is going to put the spotlight on the villain's family, and there's no denying that the show looks like it has the potential to be a lot of fun given the quirky tone and animation style.
In Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., the megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (Oswalt) has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.’s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet: a midlife crisis!
