I'm a fan of Bendis's writing, I think his style of over extrapolation will fit well on the settings of a tv show. The "Powers" series itself will lend itself quite well in tv land. So paint me excited with this news, we might have CSI:Heroes on the way.

Article from Mania.com reads:

Fans following comics creator Brian Michael Bendis on Facebook learned yesterday that things are progressing with the 'Powers' TV pilot for the cable FX network.

Bendis posted, "'Powers' tv meeting went so well no one knew what to do with themselves afterward. Stay tuned ..."

The writer revealed in February that plans for the theatrical feature film had been halted and he was writing the script for a tv pilot for the cable net that brings you edgy fare like 'The Shield,' 'Sons of Anarchy,' and 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'.

In August he let slip that the show had a director and show-runner on board.

That's great.I always wondered why they haven't made more comic book series.Look at Smallville. As much as people like to dump on it(I love the show), it's a comic book series that has lasted 9 years! It's obviously popular, so why not make more.

Hollywood has this weird thing about giving up when they shouldn't, or not giving up when they should.Birds of Prey was a flop, so instead of trying again, they just gave up on superhero shows.Same with Blade.(I liked Blade). But when it comes to a failed movie series, they just keep churning them out.

There are comic book that should be reserved for the spectacle of the big screen, but then there are some comic book series that focuses on character development, as well as action. Those shows need to play out over 22 episodes.

There is the issue of a film budget versus a television budget. But, look at Heroes. No matter how you feel about the show, that first season proved you could have superheroes on TV.Get some really good writers, cut the cast in half to 6 or 7 actors, put the rest of the budget on special effects and you've got an X-Men series.

Comic books will run for decades and their are just too many good stories and villains to explore over a few two hour films.

KENNY @ The reason everyones sh!tting on SMALLVILLE is becoz they have [frick]ed it up!!! Lol, hey ive loved the show from the very start but its got worst an worst, they need all the original writers back to bring back the quality.

I was so hyped (even though i saw season 8) for season 9, but it again (Episode one) was poorly written and jumps about, i reckon its the last season.

We need a spin off before its too late (or two), GREEN ARROW, LOSH, MARIAN MANHUNTER, SUPERGIRL, L.E.G.I.O.N, JSA (If they dont [frick] it up), heck even JUSTICE!!!

I totally agree 100% we need more comic book shows, most sci-fi shows are even worst than SMALLVILLE anyway so we need much more comic book shows!!

I love HEROES by the way, the problem is MARVELS to lazy to make any of theirs, they promise but never deliver!!!

Still waiting for [frick]ing MOON KNIGHT an all the others that are suppose to be coming out!!

At least DC/WB do it, cant wait for HUMAN TARGET!!!

There's many tv shows that could be based on comics that would need much or any CGI and costs, like PUNISHER (made for a tv show that is, maybe HBO though). And many more!!

I want a DC OUTER types LIMITS myself, different cast and characters every week!!!

Like TEA'S MARVEL CHILLERS!!! Both would be amazing shows, and could spotlight DC's & MARVEL's lesser well known characters to the General Public!!

Fingers crossed we'll get good shows from comic books sometime soon!
