Disney has been expanding their universe of character's by introducing new heroes into the mix Ever since Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They have now updated their Mravel banner and one would assume that it featuers the next prominent Avengers team, as well as the next significant threat.
Sadly this means we officially say goodbye to the original Avengers team that together, proved a connected cinematic universe can in fact work on the big screen, and were the reason why the Marvel Cinematic Universe is as big as it is today with a tremendous fanbase supporting it.
There are still 3 Avengers-alum that are active in the current day MCU, but Marvel is clear on paving the road for assembling a new team of Avengers, and the new banner image Disney + had placed on their streaming service confirms it:
Their new updated image showcases a wide variety of the leading prominent character's of this universe, removing original members such as Black- Widow, Thor, and T'Challa, in place of Yelena Belova, She-Hulk, and Shuri.
Now, the characters shown on this list are:
- Shang-Chi
- Shuri
- Capatin Marvel
- Nick Fury
- The Scarlet Witch
- Loki
- Captain America (Falcon)
- She-Hulk
- Yelena Belova
Once again, it is clearly evident Marvel Studios wants the main focus to depart from the original six Avengers to this newer group of heroes.
