VisionQuest Rumor May Reveal Which "Previous MCU Character" Will Appear - Spoilers

A recent rumor claimed that VisionQuest would feature an appearance from a "previous MCU character" to set up an adaptation of The Children's Crusade, and it may not be who you were expecting...

VisionQuest is set to premiere less than a week from now on October 14, so if you'd rather not know about a potential cameo, best stop reading now.

Final spoiler warning.

The latest Marvel television series, which will serve as the final part of a trilogy following WandaVision and Agatha All Along, may feature more than one surprise appearance, but this is most likely the character that will show up in the finale to lay the groundwork for a future MCU event.

According to a recent report from Feature First, VisionQuest "won’t connect to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe but serves as a starting point for a new story, one that will loosely adapt the legendary comic run: Avengers: The Children’s Crusade."

Allan Heinberg’s 2010-2012 tale featured various characters from the Young Avengers, Avengers, and the X-Men, but primarily focused on Magneto helping Speed and Wiccan seek out their missing mother, the Scarlet Witch, when the latter's powers become unstable. Doctor Doom also factored into the story when it's revealed that the villain is engaged to the amnesiac Wanda.

How exactly VisionQuest will tie into The Children's Crusade remains to be seen, but the site also claimed that "a previous MCU character will make an appearance by the end of VisionQuest, serving as connective tissue for this upcoming plot."

It was generally assumed that this would be Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), and it sounds like this was the original plan. However, MTTSH now reports that "Agatha was removed from VisionQuest and Billy (Joe Locke) will appear instead."

Wiccan showing up in the series that introduces his brother, Tommy/Speed, shouldn't come as a major surprise, but we can't help but wonder whether this info is inaccurate and "Ghost Agatha" will also appear.

Keep an eye on CBM for the first social media reactions, dropping in a few hours.

"When VisionQuest begins, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate.

As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron’s influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.”

VisionQuest also stars Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff/Speed and Thomas Shepherd, Todd Stashwick as Paladin, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari, Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., Diane Morgan as an associate of Paladin, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S. Faran Tahir also reprises his Iron Man role as Raza, with Cristian Lavin and Mary McDonnell appearing in undisclosed roles.

The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.

Im a little confused. When they say it doesn't connect to the larger MCU, but then Vision shows up in secret wars with his new look and a new gem in his head and ALIVE... then it does connect doesn't it?

Maybe they mean it is the same universe but a self contained story

@Vigor - all these scoopers could be bullshitting too

If not then it makes it maybe doesn’t connect to Doomsday and that Vision may not appear in either film.

@Vigor - I think that's what they meant... could have been worded better.

@Vigor - I think they meant the children's crusade adaptation and the cameo itself isn't Doomsday or Secret Wars related

@bobevanz - so not even a half of what HotD did with s3 finale globally. Especially sad when you see how it struggles on Nielsen.

Billy being in the show makes sense since given the end of Agatha had him going to look for Tommy so it makes sense that they could reunite here but we’ll see…

I like the character so it would be nice to see him again especially given the lack of follow through on other newly introduced characters in this saga.

Anyway , VisionQuest seems good so I’m looking forward to the show especially in regards to seeing how it may tie into the future!!.

It would be more of an emotional moment to reunite with his son instead of his neighbor. Can't believe they considered that in the first place unless they reveal her as Scarlet Witch's mom
